Udaipur, July 2023: Taking a giant leap in its endeavor to support the community by facilitating training to the economically weaker youth of the society with the intention to train them for their livelihood and committing to develop a sustainable society, Honda India Foundation (HIF), today commenced its flagship program Project Pragati (One Step towards Growth) in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Speaking on HIF’s commitment towards building a relationship of trust with the community to contribute to developing a sustainable society, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Chairman, of Honda India Foundation said, “Education & Rural Development continue to remain key pillars in our long-term mission of becoming a ‘Company that Society wants to Exist’. Currently, in India, there is a shortfall of trained General Duty Assistants (GDA) in hospitals. Considering this, HIF has taken the initiative to train the economically weaker youth and started this course under the project Pragati (One Step Towards Growth). The commencement of the Training batch of GDA in Udaipur today marks yet another step towards transforming citizens into responsible citizens who will be self-dependent. Honda’s corporate philosophy is founded on the fundamental principles of “Respect for the Individual” and the “Three Joys,” to support Honda’s universal passion: to improve the quality of people’s daily lives.”
The training would be facilitated by trained staff of the hospital. The inaugural event of the GDA program is being conducted at Aravali Hospital in Udaipur and further at other locations as well (Ludhiana, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Delhi & Gurugram). This program under Project Pragati will be expanded to PAN India across 60 locations, in the future.
This initiative of the Honda India Foundation will help in building skilled and confident youth. The scientifically devised training courses will facilitate a combination of theory, simulator, and practical training for both new and existing GDAs.
