Photography teaches a new way of seeing the world: Prof. DwivediNew Delhi, 01 March: “A picture is worth a thousand words,” said DG IIMC, Prof.(Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi while inaugurating a photography exhibition organized by students of the English Journalism Department, New Delhi. He added that while photography requires technical knowledge, the photographer must also be creative in creating the frame; only then can a photograph with a message be taken.

On this occasion Dean (Academic) Prof. Govind Singh, Course Director (English Journalism) Prof. Sangeeta Pranvendra, Course Director (Short Courses) Prof. Rakesh Goswami, Senior Photographer, Shri Bhagirath Basnet, faculty members, staff and students were present.

Prof. Dwivedi said that photography teaches a new way of seeing the world. Photography is a mixed form of science and art. Bringing all the expressions and words in a photo is an art in itself and the one who has understood this art is a true photographer.

Appreciating the work of Shri Bhagirath, Prof. Dwivedi said that he taught the students the nuances of photography and the techniques related to it. After this, the students captured many colors of Delhi in their cameras through photographs.

The winners were announced at the event, with Jishan Anjum receiving first place, Jyotirmoy Halder receiving second place, Anugrah Praveen Baxla receiving third place and Akriti Bhandari receiving a special mention under the open category.
