Bangalore August 16, 2023: Round Table India and Ladies Circle India – Area 6, on the occasion of 77 years of Independence, organized the 13th Edition of ‘Freedom Drive’ in Bangalore, and honoured freedom fighters. The drive also Created awareness about Round Table India’s objective of ‘Freedom Through Education’. The Freedom Drive was flagged off by Shri V.G Kiran Kumar, President Indo Vietnam Chamber of Commerce.
Over 30 cars participated in the ‘Freedom Drive’ with the Chairman of Round Table India – Area 6, Prateek Kumar and the Chairperson of the Ladies Circle India-Area 6, Sivaranjani, present.
The President, the Indo-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce Shri V.G Kiran Kumar, commended the two voluntary organisations for their efforts in spreading education and also for highlighting the need for independent India to grow as an economic power, through education.
Round Table India (RTI) is an energetic youth organization focused on nation-building and striving to promote ‘service through fellowship’. Its membership is comprised of young men from various professions spanning over 160 cities and towns across the country, driven to contribute to society at large. It has grown to a strong network of over 350 tables (Chapters) across the length and breadth of the country. RTI’s flagship programme, ‘Freedom Through Education (FTE)’, involves building classrooms, and toilets, and providing other infrastructure like drinking water facilities, library, science lab, sanitary pad dispensers, etc. in schools across the country that provide education to children from the less privileged sections of the society.
Built one classroom a day for past 13 years
In the last 25 years, RTI has built over 8,665 classrooms in over 3,616 school projects, impacting the lives of over 9.53 million underprivileged children. In the last 13 years, RTI has built on an average one classroom a day, every day.
During the year 2022-2023, Round table India has executed 181 projects with an outlay of 54.19 cr impacting the lives of 8,06,625 children. Round table India built a total of 717 classrooms totalling to upto 435000 Sqft.
This year Bangalore Knights Round Table 174 and Bangalore Knights Ladies Circle have initiated a project to donate 17400 meals to the needy Under the Leadership of Chairman Tr Divij Talreja and Cr Sneha Sachdev.
Round Table India proudly claims itself to be a zero-overhead organization and every rupee of contribution received or fundraised goes directly into building schools and other community service activities for the less privileged.
