Art Critic Prayag Shukla inaugurated ‘The Treasury of Tranquility’ – a solo exhibition of paintings by Suresh Pushpangathan at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre. The exhibition features the interplay of light and color in nature, capturing diverse moods and vibrations. Suresh Pushpangathan, a nature lover and artist, drew inspiration from his childhood spent amidst the tropical countryside of Varkala in Kerala, where he whittled away at pieces of wood under his father’s tutelage. His latest collection, ‘The Treasury of Tranquility,’ echoes the serenity and harmony of a childhood spent in nature, capturing memories of splashing amidst lotuses, watching colorful birds, butterflies, and dragonflies, and the lush beauty of coffee plantations. Curator Jaya Mani praises Suresh’s work as “an immersive theatrical experience” that captures the essence of nature.
