Study Group26th June 2023: Study Group, a leading provider of international education announced that four of its university partners — Durham University, Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Sheffield, and the University of Sussex — have subjects in the prestigious top 10 of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. One of a number of global rankings focused on different metrics that aim to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject, 15 of Study Group’s UK and Ireland university partners feature in the top 100.

The rankings are informed by the substantial investigation into academic and employer reputation, faculty research, and other indicators. The list encompasses nearly 1,600 institutions and their corresponding subject courses.

Study Group supports international students to participate and succeed at its UK and Ireland partner universities through the provision of outstanding learning experiences, specialized teaching, and support tailored for international students at International Study Centres connected to the universities.

Commenting on this occasion, Dr. Mark Cunnington, Study Group’s Managing Director of University Partnerships, UK & Ireland, said, “Congratulations to all the universities that feature in the QS Global Rankings by Subject.

“We are delighted to see so many of our partners recognised in these rankings, including the coveted top 100 spots. With a focus on the employer and academic reputation, the QS World University Rankings by Subject is a valuable resource for our prospective students and one of many ways we ensure we’re connecting them to courses commensurate with their education and employment goals.”

The University of Sussex has been in partnership with Study Group for almost 17 years and has achieved first place for Development Studies for the seventh consecutive year. In addition, five other subjects including sociology and psychology have been ranked in the top 100, and five more subjects are in the top 150. Last year, 94% of international students who successfully completed pathway programs at the University of Sussex International Study Centre were offered places to pursue a degree at the university.

The University of Sheffield sits in the top position for Library and Information Management and has 40 subjects ranked within the world’s top 200, out of which four are in the top 50. Across Study Group’s Russell Group partners, which are Cardiff University, the University of Leeds, the University of Sheffield, and Durham University, 75 subjects have been ranked within the global top 100. This range of subjects is a testament to the academic standards upheld by the Russell Group universities.
