ONGC-aided Medical Camp in Mumbai inaugurated by Shri Rameswar TeliMumbai, February 24, 2023: Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Labour and Employment, Government of India, Shri Rameswar Teli inaugurated ONGC-aided General Medical Camp for providing generic healthcare services to fisherman community in Juhu Gajderbandh, Koliwada, Mumbai on 23 February 2023 in presence of Director (Offshore) Pankaj Kumar and senior ONGC officials.

ONGC Mumbai has organized this free medical camp as a part of its CSR initiative which benefitted around 5000 people belonging to the fisherman community at a total cost of over Rs. 16 lakhs. This Medical Camp is being implemented by M/s R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre.

While inaugurating the camp, Shri Rameswar Teli lauded the initiatives of ONGC for augmenting the healthcare facilities in its operational areas. He termed ONGC’s CSR initiatives as historic since they touch lives of millions of people. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Teli underscored that the quality of health and healthcare facilities for the commoners is one of the key objectives of CSR initiatives of the company.

Hon’ble Minister as a part of the medical camp handed over Wheelchairs to the beneficiaries along with medicines and spectacles bringing smile on the faces of the people of fisherman community.

Speaking on the occasion, Director (Offshore) Shri Pankaj Kumar reaffirmed the commitment of ONGC towards the improving the quality of life of people residing in its operational areas. He said that ONGC as a responsible corporate is always leading from the front when it comes to improving the lives of the people of the country.

Some of the main services of the medical camp are as follows:

  • 5,000 people screened and given required general healthcare services
  • 3,000 people with vision-related issues given spectacles
  • 1,000 blood sugar tests conducted
  • 25 wheelchairs distributed to physically challenged person
  • 10 artificial limbs fitted to needy physically challenged person
