Counselling begins for admissions to IIMC
New Delhi, May 6: The e-counselling process for admission to five PG Diploma courses at the country’s most prestigious media education institute, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), has begun. Students can register for e-counselling, students need to deposit an online registration fee of Rs 1,500 (General) and Rs 1,000 (EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PH). The first merit list will be declared on May 11.
Dean (Academic) Prof. Govind Singh said, “This year, students are being admitted through the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET PG) 2024. For admission to the PG Diploma in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Radio & Television Journalism, and Digital Media, students will have to participate in the e-counselling process and the new academic session will start on August 5, 2024 tentatively.”
According to Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Goswami, Admission Inchargeand Controller of Examinations, candidates should read and fill out their preferences carefully for the courses and campuses while filling the registration form. Any request for changes in the preferences will not be accepted after the submission of the registration form. Once the course selection is finalized, candidates are required to make an advance payment of Rs. 20,000 as tuition fee to secure their seat in the preferred course. The remaining balance must be paid within the stipulated date and time to complete the admission process.
Prof. Goswami added that it is mandatory for each candidate to submit a high school certificate for verification of the Date of Birth and the final graduation mark sheet. The candidates awaiting their graduation final result need to submit their required documents within the stipulated date and time.
If candidates belonging to the reserved category are not able to submit the caste certificate, then they can give an undertaking at the time of admission and submit the category certificate within the stipulated date and time, said Prof. Goswami.
