Four companies — Adani Energy Solutions, Laurus Labs, Lenskart Solutions and Billionbrains Garage Ventures — will be added to the index, while Astral, Balkrishna Industries and SBI Cards and Payment Services will be removed.
The changes will come into effect after the close of trading on August 31, 2026.
The MSCI India Index is closely followed by global institutional and passive investors. Changes in its composition can lead to portfolio adjustments and increased trading activity in the affected stocks.
The latest review is expected to bring greater attention to the companies being added, while stocks leaving the index may face changes in fund holdings.
MSCI also announced changes to its India Small Cap Index, with several stocks being added and removed as part of the broader review.
The index reshuffle is likely to remain a key focus for investors as markets assess the potential impact on institutional fund flows and individual stocks.
