February 03: INOX Air Products Private Limited (INOXAP), one of India’s leading manufacturers of industrial, electronic and medical gases, has created a milestone by commissioning a PESO licensed large package warehouse for specialty gases, at Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. The newly licensed facility is authorised to store critical gases including Nitrous Oxide and Silane in tube trailers, and Hydrogen mixtures in y-toners, for exclusively catering to the consistent and large-quantity requirements of India’s solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing ecosystem. This approval from Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) marks a significant step towards safety, regulatory compliance and operational capability within India’s industrial gases sector.
For INOXAP’s customers, particularly solar manufacturers, the facility provides an advantage in supply assurance and operational agility for gases. By maintaining substantial on-site inventories of mission-critical gases, INOXAP will be able to significantly reduce import lead times, minimise global supply disruptions and enhance production continuity. This further translates into improved operational efficiency and greater supply chain resilience for partners, supporting both capacity expansion and India’s solar energy objectives.
Speaking on this milestone, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director – INOX Air Products, said “This milestone marks a significant step in building India’s self-reliant solar energy ecosystem. By establishing this large package warehouse approved by PESO for specialty gases, we are not merely adding infrastructure, but are also strengthening the foundations of import reliability, safety and innovation, that India’s solar industry needs to scale with confidence. At INOX Air Products, our commitment is firmly nation-first, while investing ahead of demand and anticipating future industrial needs. We are proud to enable advanced manufacturing and support India’s journey towards energy security and global leadership in clean technologies. We are grateful to PESO for their progressive outlook which is enabling innovations like these.”
The new capability firmly positions INOXAP as an integrated and strategic partner in aiding large-scale solar manufacturing operations. With safety as the cornerstone of the warehouse’s core-design, the consolidated storage of mission critical gases at one location would optimise logistics, reduce import transit time and enable strategic stocking to respond swiftly to the dynamic customer demand.
