South India’s biggest Goushala, Satyam Shivam Sundaram Gau Nivas organised Annakut Celebrations on Sunday

Hyderabad, 29th November 2021: South India’s biggest Goushala (cow shelter), Satyam Shivam Sundaram Gau Nivas located in 8-acres of land and home to about 5300 cows rescued from slaughter houses organised a Grand Annakut Celebration here at its premises at Peddammagadda, Gaganpahad in city on Sunday.

15000 Gau Bhakth(Cow Lovers) from entire twin cities and neighbouring districts graced the annakut celebrations. They have also contributed in cash and kind towards running the cow shelter.

A Pune based spiritual musical group engaged devotees and cow Bhakths with bhajans, prayers and spiritual songs.

Many cow related products- cow urine, bio fertiliser called Dharthi Sudhar made from Cow Dung and Urine, Dhoop Sticsetc were on display and sale.

According to Mr Ranka, Dharthi Sudhar is made from Indian breed of cows. For organic farming, fertilizers and pest repellants made from cow dung and cow urine of native cows are more sustainable as manure as it has more beneficial microorganisms earthworms thrive on them, he added.

Giving details Mr. Dharam Raj Ranka of Satyam Shivam Sundaram Gau Nivas said that the Annakut festival is celebrated at the beginning of each New Year. Lots of variety of food items prepared with love and devotion are offered to God. Thousands of devotees graced the celebrations.

Dharam Raj Ranka added that although the literal meaning of ‘Annakut’ is “mountain of food”, it symbolises an offering of food to God and the love and devotion that has gone into preparing it. As part of the Diwali celebrations Hindus around the world cook a variety of different vegetarian items of food, snacks, sweets, pickles and delicacies as offerings to God.

Traditionally Annakut symbolised devotion through offering the first harvest and distributing this to all.

South India’s biggest and India’s best maintained ‘Gau Niwas’ Satyam Shivam Sundaram (SSS) Gau Nivas gives a new meaning to the concept of cow protection. Cows who just escaped from the jaws of their death, get a decent life and royal treatment.

It has been established by Shri Dharam Raj Ranka, an 81 years old man with a mission to protect India’s most revered animal ‘Cow’. Mr. Ranka has fully dedicated his life for the cause of Cow Protection. He is the pioneer of Gou Shala Concept in twin cities and has been instrumental in setting up several Gou Shalas.

Manolo men bounce back for first win of the season

Goa: After an unlucky start to their Indian Super League campaign, Hyderabad FC were back to winning ways at Fatorda on Saturday. In what was the first 9:30pm kickoff in the league’s history, Hyderabad FC put on an impressive display to take all three points and move up to 5^th in the league table, two games into the season.

Manolo Marquez’s men did not have the best start to the game, as Ahmed Jahouh found the back of the net at the end of a smart dribble, in just the 6th minute of the game. However, it was all Hyderabad since then, as they dominated possession, created chances and were the better side on the night.

Joao Victor levelled the score in the 13^th minute, coolly slotting in from the spot, after Joel Chianese was brought down with a clumsy challenge at the edge of the box. Inspite of a couple more chances falling to the hosts, it was all square at the break between the two sides.

Hyderabad managed to keep the likes of Igor Angulo quiet at the other end but it was their constant creativity in attack that posed several problems for Mumbai City.

And it was Bart Ogbeche who gave the lead to HFC in the 53^rd minute making no mistake from a superb Aniket Jadhav cross from the right. This came at the end of a superb passing move, giving Manolo’s men a lead against Mumbai for the first time in their history.

Hyderabad FC not only managed to keep the lead but also doubled it after Rohit Danu popped up with his first ISL goal. The youngster was lively after coming on in the second half and took his chance after he got to a loose ball in the box and thumped it home from close range to turn into Hyderabad FC’s youngest goal scorer!

The Islanders did have a couple of dangerous attacks at the end but Laxmikant Kattimani, Chinglensana Singh and Juanan were all solid at the back and managed to see out the two-goal lead.

The likes of Hitesh Sharma, Mohammad Yasir, Asish Rai, Akash Mishra and Edu Garcia (who came off the bench) were all instrumental in keeping the defending champions from playing their natural game.

This win gave Hyderabad their first points of the season and they now climb upto 5^th place in the league table. It was also Hyderabad FC’s first win with Joao Victor as the captain of the side, who was also chosen as the ‘Hero of the Match’.

Hyderabad are back in action on Thursday, when they take on Jamshedpur FC in an away game at Bambolim on 2^nd December!

Juan Ferrando preaches patience with youngsters, details out areas of improvement

Hyderabad November 26, 2021: FC Goa’s league-record 15-match unbeaten streak came to a crashing halt this Monday when they went down to Mumbai City FC 3-0 in their season opener. The biggest defeat for FC Goa under Ferrando’s tenure was a bitter pill to swallow for both Juan Ferrando’s men and the FC Goa fans.

Friday, though, brings an opportunity for the Gaurs to redeem themselves as they clash against Jamshedpur FC in a clash that will see both teams seeking their first win.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game in the pre-match press conference, Juan Ferrando shared his thoughts on the performance in the last game and the team’s plans for the future in regards to the youngsters.

Patience with the youngsters

The season-opener saw Juan Ferrando name a fairly inexperienced line-up at the back. Leander D’Cunha and Sanson Pereira made their second ISL starts while Papuia made his ISL debut. While the trust might not be fully vindicated, Ferrando preached patience when it comes to the youngsters.

“To be honest, I trust Leander, I trust Papuia and I have trust in Sanson. Of course, they don’t have a lot of experience, but they can only get that experience when you play,” added Ferrando.

“Of course we lost, and I don’t want to give an excuse for that. You can say that my plan was not a success, but I trust these players. I want that if FC Goa needs these players, they are ready to deliver.

“I understand the talk about the lack of experience. But for me, as head coach, my most important job is to help them. They are our future. Of course their performances were not good. We have to do more work and then give them their chances.

” If there remain faults, it’s the fault of the head coach. If there are individual mistakes, we have to see how we can work with them in training and overcome them.”

Need to control spaces better

“It was not so easy (to digest the result). In my point of view, our performance in the first game was not good. But now I am only thinking about tomorrow,” stated Ferrando.

“We are working on our plans and our style. Our performance against Mumbai was not good. Of course it’s necessary to learn (from that) but we have to now focus on the next game. I think that is the important thing. We are not happy, but this is football. We have a new challenge tomorrow. And the most important thing is to focus on tomorrow’s game.”

The loss in the season-opener was only the fifth time since the beginning of the 2017/18 season that Goa have gone down by a three-goal margin and the first time Ferrando further aired where he felt the team lacked.

“In transitions when we lose the ball, it’s important to be more compact between the lines. We need to control the spaces – when we are in attack or in build-up because if we lose the ball it’s very important that we press immediately because the opponent has a lot of space,” added Ferrando.

Indian origin filmmaker Aseem Chhabra to moderate session on relevance of film festivals in a hyper-digital world

India, 25^th Nov 2021: Indian origin filmmaker Aseem Chhabra will moderate a session on ‘The relevance of Film Festivals in a hyper-digital world’ on Friday, November 26, 6p.m. India time, during the ongoing month-long European Union Film Festival.

The session, which has been organised in collaboration with the Dharamshala International Film Festival, will focus on the challenges before film festivals, especially smaller ones, and explore means through which they can reinvent themselves and remain relevant to their communities in this new world of unlimited digital access and choice.

The session is scheduled to be held on November 26 at 18:00 (IST).

Deepthi Pendurty, festival manager for Dharamshala IFF, Christina Marouda, Chair of the Board and founder of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and Meenakshi Shedde, an independent Mumbai-based film curator will be a part of the moderated discussion.

Aseem Chhabra is the festival director of the New York Indian Film Festival, the largest and oldest Indian film festival in North America.

He is also a film journalist, who has been published in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Mumbai Mirror, Rediff.com, The Hindu, Outlook, BBC.com, Quartz, Scroll, Newslaundry. Premjit Sen makes India Proud

The President of Karate Do Association of Bengal (KAB), Premjit Sen deservingly got promoted to the highest rank as a A Grade Referee & Judge of Kumite and Kata respectively in the World Karate Federation (WKF). He achieved this feat at the 26th World Karate Championship, which was held in Dubai from 16th to 21st November 2021.

He is appropriately appointed as the Chairman of the Referee Commission of Karate India Organisation (KIO), which is the permanent member of WKF and the only authentic National Federation for a game of Karate in India.

Around 370 examinees represented 117 countries in the prestigious WKF Referee & Judges Examination in Dubai this year. Premjit Sen came out with flying colours in the Examination and got promoted.

“I believe in hard work and truth, and thus, I am proudly standing here today. I would like to thank God and my family, who always stood beside me and sacrificed a lot to see me reach these heights”, said Hanshi Premjit Sen after his results were declared.

From an administrator to a coach, Premjit has fulfilled all his duties.

Over the course of the years, Sen as a coach has produced numerous National and International champions. The international platforms include the championships organised by SAKF (South Asian Karate-do Federation), AKF (Asian Karate Federation), Commonwealth Games and WKF (World Karate Federation).

It is due to the effort of KAB under the leadership of Premjit Sen, karate is counted as one of the most popular sports played in West Bengal.

He organises several tournaments of international standards so that the Bengal athletes can get exposure to the championships of WKF. KAB also organises webinars by Ex-World champions free of cost for the players to attend.

Suraj Nirwan, son of late Pandit Subhash Nirwan, a renowned tabla and maestro of Delhi Gharana style of playing (Delhi Baaj), believes that this true essence of Indian classical music should be propagated across the worldwide.
