Belle Vue Clinic introduces advanced AI-based contactless vitals monitoring technology

KOLKATA, 2 Nov.–Belle Vue Clinic has introduced advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based contactless vitals monitoring technology, adopting Dozee’s remote monitoring system, to enhance patient safety by converting its non-ICU beds into Step-down-ICUs. This indigenous device sends timely alerts on the condition of a patient to healthcare workers, helping avert critical emergency situations. This contactless Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning System (EWS) will deliver quality patient care. It is the first hospital to introduce Dozee’s NcBP (World’s first non-contact Blood Pressure) technology in this region, ensuring greater ease-of-use and patient compliance.

Dozee monitored about 300 patients for nearly two months at Belle Vue Clinic and generated nearly 980 critical alerts that helped prioritize the time of doctors and nurses, while simultaneously delivering higher patient safety.

Dozee is India’s first AI-powered contactless Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) & Early Warning System (EWS) for continuous automated patient monitoring in non-ICU wards like Step-down-ICU, High-dependency unit (HDU), VIP rooms, COVID and general wards. Supported by the Government of India, the Dozee device tracks vital parameters, such as heart and respiratory rates, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels and patient’s temperature with a clinical grade accuracy of 98.4%. It also tracks patient sleep quality while flagging indicators of sleep apnea. Dozee’s remote monitoring system is extremely effective. An independent study by Sattva Consulting in public hospitals has shown that ~100 Dozee connected beds, can save ~144 lives with timely alerts and save ~80% of nursing time.

Mr. Pradip Tondon, CEO, Belle Vue Clinic, said: “Adopting Dozee’s technology is one of the steps we are taking to foray into the digital age, equipped with adequate tools and resources to further enhance our healthcare delivery. With this technology, we are also hoping to reduce the workload on our healthcare workers who can monitor a patient’s vitals remotely, and prioritize their time depending on specific needs of the patients.”

Mr Gaurav Parchani, CTO & Co-founder of Dozee, said: “We couldn’t be more enthusiastic about bringing Dozee to Belle Vue Clinic. I believe Dozee will help assist doctors and nurses with optimal caregiving, while simultaneously reducing the risks of workforce burnout. Our aim is to enable the delivery of quality care and safeguard the quality of life for both patients and healthcare workers through Dozee’s tech solutions.”

The Dozee system is ISO 13485, ISO 27001, IEC 60601-1-2, RoHS certified and CDSCO registered. And its USFDA 510 K is in process. Dozee also received the ISO 13485:2016 certification in December 2021, from Intertek for its Quality Management System (QMS). This certification is a part of the quality journey with ISO/IEC 27001:2013, Information Security Management.

IIT graduates, Mr Mudit Dandwate and Mr Parchani founded Dozee in October 2015 and is supported by the Government of India through BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council). Dozee has also applied for several patents related to the identification and forecasting of respiratory, cardiac, and neurological patterns as well as the detailed examination of vital signs to provide an early indication of health issues.
