JIS Group Hosts JIS SAMMAN 2026

Kolkata, Feb 01: JIS Group organised JIS SAMMAN 2026, its flagship and much-anticipated annual awards ceremony, celebrating excellence, visionary leadership, and transformative contributions across the domains of academics, culture, sports, and public service. The prestigious evening paid tribute to outstanding students, accomplished scholars, dedicated teachers, committed employees of the JIS Group, and eminent personalities whose exemplary work has made a lasting impact on society and contributed meaningfully to the nation’s progress.

Dr. Binoy Kumar Das, Director General, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was conferred with the JIS Maha Samman 2026 for his distinguished role as Director General of Electronics & Communication Systems at DRDO. Dr. Das has emerged as one of the principal architects of Operation Sindoor, playing a decisive and strategic role in the successful deployment of indigenous defence systems such as Akashteer, Akash Missiles, and BrahMos. His exemplary contributions marked a historic milestone in strengthening India’s defence preparedness, technological sovereignty, and self-reliance.

The grand program was graced by Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Haranjit Singh, Joint Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS Group; and Sardarni Manpreet Kaur, CEO, JIS Group; along with Directors and senior members of the JIS Group management. Their distinguished presence underscored the organisation’s enduring ethos of celebrating excellence that transcends conventional boundaries.

The JIS Maha Samman 2026 was also conferred upon Sardar Tarlochan Singh, Former Member of Parliament (Haryana) and Former Chairman, National Commission for Minorities, in recognition of his distinguished service to public life, inclusive governance, and social equity; Smt. Haimanti Sukla, the eminent and celebrated Indian classical singer, honoured for her unparalleled contribution to Indian music, artistic excellence, and cultural heritage; and Shri. Bhaskar Ganguly, Former Captain and Goalkeeper of the Indian National Football Team, who was acknowledged for his enduring legacy, leadership, and transformative influence on Indian football.

Adding vibrant cultural splendour to the evening, the celebrations were further elevated by a mesmerizing live performance by the renowned Sufi band Bolly Sufi, whose soulful and evocative renditions resonated deeply with the spirit and grandeur of the occasion.
