Nitin Gadkari, Shubhraa Maheshwari seen at session Driving Forward Entrepreneurship--Road Ahead organised by FLO Hyderabad

Green Hydrogen is the fuel of the future: Nitin Gadkari

Hyderabad, April 29, 2022: Make India a powerful country. Make India number one in the economy. Our Prime Minister has put forth a vision to make India, a 5 trillion-dollar economy by 2025. To achieve this we need appropriate technologies, increase productivity, and increase exports said Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Govt of India.

He was addressing a gathering of 150 plus women entrepreneurs on “Driving Forward Women Entrepreneurship -Road Ahead” in a function held at Novotel, RGIA at Shamshabad on Friday afternoon. Union Ministers Gen VK Singh and G. Kishan Reddy too graced the function.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister

I see knowledge as a power. I also see waste as wealth. What we need is an appropriate technology to see those end results. You can donate eyes but not vision. The Research should be need-based. In order to be successful in whatever you do, you need a strong political will. If there is a will there is a way. If there is no will, you will end up only doing surveys, discussions, deliberations, the Minister said

In order to be successful, you should be a people-centric person. You should have good human relations. People’s knowledge is more important. The most important thing is you should think of ahead, ahead of the time. I as a Minister of Road Transport think 50 years ahead.

We all know Petrol is becoming precious and dear. We need alternate fuels. I think of a dozen alternate fuels such as Biodiesel, Natural Gas, Ethanol, Methane, Propane, Electricity, Hydrogen Which are currently under development or in production to power the vehicles of the future, and some are even available today, Nitin Gadkari said and added that Green Hydrogen is going to be the fuel of the future.

We must not only pioneer researching and developing these alternate fuels, but we must also produce abundantly and export them too he said.

Speaking further the Minister said Hyderabad and Bangalore are way ahead of the rest of the cities in India and Countries in software development so much so that once a Japanese PM asked me the secret behind these cities’ unique distinction and reputation.

Honesty, goodwill, and credibility are some of the highest capitals of the 21st century these days, Nitin Gadkari told.

The shortcuts will cut short the life. Later the minister was in chat with Shubhraa Maheshwari, Chairperson of FICCI Ladies Organisation, Hyderabad Chapter.

Answering a question on the dream of a 5 trillion-dollar economy of our PM cannot be reached without the empowerment of female entrepreneurs, he said capabilities are the same irrespective of gender. Women need not think that they need to be pushed. They can push themselves. They need to have a positive approach. A positive attitude and self-confidence are very important in life he said

You can name the field where women are not found. They are everywhere. You need to grab opportunities. We need to see problems as opportunities, not vice versa. Ahankar and ego are dangerous qualities. I have been in political life for so many years. I have neither garlanded a leader nor allow somebody to do to me. I never bought flowers, nor did I encourage cut-outs. You lead or lead by somebody. He gave the example of Indira Gandhi, Sushma Swaraj, who has come up in their careers without a push by somebody or some force.

Replying to another question on what should be done to bring an inclusive approach to bring women entrepreneurs into the mainstream business, he said quality should be the hallmark of whatever they do. And everything will fall in place.

When asked what inspired him to get into politics at a very young age he said, I was a student leader, then joined Janata party and now into BJP. I was never a career-oriented politician. I was never a professional Politician. It just happened. The true meaning of politics as understood now is not about power but about service. We have to change the definition of politics. He shared many other personal experiences.

Earlier welcoming the gathering, Shubhraa Maheshwari, Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad said Nitin Gadkari is the man on the move. He makes democracy deliver.

She thanked him for accepting o to address FLO audience and to share his insights on the road ahead for women’s role in the economic development in India. In his own words.

American roads are not good because America is rich,” “But America is rich because American roads are good.” And as a continuing auditor of the National Highways Authority of India I have been seeing the smoothness of operations, developments, and reforms in our country roads and highways, Shubhraa said.

Workplace Exposure and Nasal/Paranasal Sinus Cancer

Dr. Ankit Mahuvakar, Head and Neck Onco-surgeon at HCG Cancer Centre, Mumbai

Multiple risk factors can increase a person’s chances of developing nasal cavity (nose) and paranasal sinus cancer. Occupational exposure to chemicals that have been inhaled is a prominent risk factor amongst others.

As per retrospective analysis and cohort studies from individuals engaged in certain occupations where exposure to certain chemicals is inevitable, there are a number of substances like hexavalent chromium and occupational circumstances that cause or possibly cause sinus cancer.

Certain occupations increase the risk of developing nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer. Occupational exposure to wood and leather dust has been linked to nasal and paranasal sinus cancer. Sinonasal tumors have also been observed in the footwear-making industry due to exposure to leather soles and heels dust. High risks have also been observed in farming, construction sites, metal industry particularly nickel and chromium.

Workers exposed to nickel compounds in nickel refining, cutlery manufacturers, and alkaline battery manufacture, or to hexavalent chromium in the production of chromate and chrome plating, have been found to be susceptible to nose and nasal sinus cancers.

Across the world, five countries with the highest number of deaths from nasal and paranasal sinus cancer are India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Russia.

About nasal and paranasal sinus cancer

Cancer develops when healthy cells in the body mutate and expand uncontrollably, generating a mass known as a tumor. A tumor might be malignant or benign. Benign tumors are those which have no chance of distant spread and can be treated by surgery alone. Malignant tumors would need multi-modality treatment which includes surgery followed by Radiation/Chemoradiation.

Nasal cavity is the space that starts at the nostrils anteriorly and ends at posterior nares.

Nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer are malignant tumors that develop in the head and neck region. Although paranasal sinus cancer can occur in any of the sinuses, it is most commonly found in the maxillary sinus.

Cancer of the nasal cavity or paranasal sinus is more common as people grow older. It occurs twice as often in men as women, and four out of five cases are diagnosed in people aged 55 years and up.

The nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses include a variety of tissues, each of which contains a variety of cells. Each of these cells can result in a different type of cancer. The types of cancer that may develop from these cells include:

  • Squamous cell carcinoma begins in the squamous cells that make up the surface layer of the structure of the head and neck
  • Adenocarcinoma begins in the glandular cells
  • Melanoma develops from cells called melanocytes.
  • Inverted papilloma
  • Esthesioneuroblastoma is related to the nerves that cause the sense of smell
  • Midline granuloma causes the breakdown of tissues of the nose, sinuses, and neighboring tissues
  • Lymphoma is the cancer of the lymphatic system
  • Sarcoma begins in the muscles, bone, or connective tissues

The causes of each type of nasal and paranasal sinus cancer may be unclear, however, there are certain risk factors that cause the normal cells to become cancerous. Some risk factors, such as workplace exposure to specific chemicals, may induce these cancers by causing DNA damage in cells that line the inside of the nose and sinuses.

Symptoms and signs

Most nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancers are discovered as a result of the complications they create. People who have nasal cavity or paranasal sinus cancer may encounter the following symptoms:

  • Severe nasal congestion
  • Pain and swelling in the face, eyes, or ears
  • Nasal bleeding (Epistaxis)
  • Forward bulging eyeball (Proptosis)
  • Double vision (Diplopia)
  • Restricted eyeball movements
  • Headache
  • Loss of hearing
  • Constant watery eyes
  • Pain or pressure in one of the ears
  • Loss or change in vision
  • Impaired sense of smell
  • Pus draining from the nose
  • A lump or mass on the face, palate, or inside the nose

Prevention

You can lower your risk of nasal and paranasal tumors by taking the following precautions at work.

Issues to be addressed regarding wearing proper safety gear, like a face mask, etc. to prevent inhaling harmful chemicals or dust particles.

Having one or more symptoms does not imply that you have cancer of the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses. Many of these symptoms, in fact, are more likely to be caused by other illnesses. Still, if you experience any of these symptoms, you should consult a doctor so that the underlying reason can be identified and treated at the earliest.
