KIUG 21 host JAIN University wins hearts of the participants

29 April 2022, Bengaluru: With unparalleled grandeur, the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2021, hosted by JAIN University, has successfully captured the attention of sports stalwarts all over the world. More than 4500 athletes from more than 190 universities in India have participated in this competition. As a host, JAIN University has made excellent arrangements for the sporting events in its Global Campus and The Sports School, but they are winning more hearts with the hospitality and care at the venue to rejuvenate the players and make them ready for their next matches.

The KIUG has reached its 7th day, while the JAIN University team has shown excellent performance in Swimming, other performances from other universities are also giving tough competition and elevating the level of the sports events. Today was a historical day at the Global Campus where Yoga was introduced for the first time in the Khelo India University games.

Besides proving its worth in this tournament, JAIN University has won the hearts of its peer university delegates and athletes with its outstanding hospitality – catering services, hostel accommodations, and other services beyond the games.

JAIN University is organizing daily cultural programs in the late evening for entertainment and refreshment of the participants, peers, delegates as well as spectators of various universities involved in the games. These entertainment-based programs are aimed to rejuvenate the weary participants involved in the day-long sports events by energizing them back for their next day’s performances.

An enthusiastic team led by Dr. Abhishek Venkateshwar, head of Spectator Engagement and program organizer at JAIN University has envisaged these programmes during the games. Every day the cultural programmes run for two hours, 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm. The cultural events include musical performances (Indian, western, acoustic, Indiblues), musical band performances, dance performances (Indian, western, freestyle classical, folk), group dance performances (Semi-Classical, Indian & Western), theatrical plays, mad ads, mime fashion shows, stand-up comedy performances, etc. After the cultural fest, there is an open DJ night arranged for the audience to relax and enjoy the dance floor.

Shopify Merchants Support World’s Largest Workforce, Contributing 5M Jobs and $444B+ in Economic Activity in 2021

Here are some other key findings from our 2021 report.

International impact:

  • Shopify merchants sold $25+ billion worth of goods and services outside their home country in 2021. Small businesses*** produced $11 billion of those sales—that’s as much as the top 6 highest-grossing superhero films combined.
  • European merchants exported $4 billion worth of goods and services outside their continent, a 39% increase from 2020.
  • Merchants in developing nations generated $6.5+ billion in revenue in 2021, up from $5.8 billion in 2020.

Partner ecosystem:

  • Shopify’s Partner ecosystem—which includes developers, designers, marketers, accountants, logistics providers, and other experts who help our merchants succeed—supported 656,000 jobs and totaled $32 billion in revenue** last year.
  • Our Partners increased their earnings 45% from 2020, grossing nearly 7x Shopify’s 2021 revenue—and we’re proud of their success.

Regional and country-specific highlights:

  • India: 199,600 jobs and $3.4 billion in economic activity. Shopify merchants in India supported enough jobs to fill the Taj Mahal 5 times, based on its current maximum capacity of 40,000 people.

New Delhi – April 29, 2022: Union Bank of India becomes the first public sector Bank to go live on the Account Aggregator Ecosystem for participating in Govt. of India’s Digital Initiatives.

The Account Aggregator Ecosystem helps the Lenders to leverage on Digital data acquired with the consent from the Customers for providing them a seamless journey and eliminating the need of physical documentation. Financial Information User (FIU) can request for data from the Financial Information User (FIP) based on a simple consent given by the Customer on their Account Aggregator handle.

Union Bank of India endeavors to work both as FIP and as FIU enabling its Customers to share Data digitally on real time basis. Union Bank has implemented the technology stack as per the Reserve Bank Information Technology (ReBIT) guidelines.

The Account Aggregator (AA) Ecosystem which went live in September 2021 has seen active participation from Banks/NBFCs in the country.
