Natyacharya Shishir Kumar Bhaduri

Kolkata, 30 July 2022: Following the trend of Bollywood, a biopic on the life of the pioneer of modern Bengali theatre Shishir Kumar Bhaduri was announced on Friday at a luxury hotel in Kolkata. The Biopic is to be named – ‘Borobabu’. Shishir Kumar used to be called ‘Borobabu’ by the artists of that era and this nickname means that he was a supremo hence nothing could have been a better choice of a name than this. Starting from the concept of the film to the entire research credit goes to Reshmi Mitra, who will also be directing the film. During the announcement Press Conference Musician Bickram Ghosh, Director of the film Reshmi Mitra and Suman Bhattacharyya of Danaos Production were present.

Natyacharya Shishir Kumar Bhaduri 1

This biopic is not a complete historical replication but it takes the context of the legendary work and life of Sisir Kumar Bhadhuri, the towering personality of Bengali Theatre. The film mainly considers the tussle of the personal life torn by the relationship between Prabha Debi and Kankabati, those who acted in the theatre of Sisir kumar and both the actresses contributed emotion to the life of the actor. Prabha was a great actress and her acting skill were praised by all. But Prabha had no proper education and Sisir Kumar was a professor of English who left college in order to do a new wave of theatre. He was fond of Tagore and produced a comedy of Tagore on stage. Kankabati was an educated girl, who could recite and sing Tagore, hence this attractive woman affected the actor and subsequently due to many turn of events his early life was ruined. His wife, Usha committed suicide and this troubled past always inflicted the actor in a tormenting way with a shadow of death.

Reshmi Mitra, Director of the Film commented, “Bengali film industry has not done enough yet in the biopic genre. Hence, I thought of depicting the life of a notable personality with who the Bengali audience will be able to connect. The entire team is excited to go on floors soon as we have vouched to make it one of a kind experience for our audience.”

Suman Bhattacharyya of Danaos production said, “Sisir Kumar tried to revive our theatre in his own way. It was a struggle, pain and bliss that he faced in the path of promoting Bengali drama abroad also. His efforts are still remembered to make Bengali theatre global. In the film – ‘Borobabu’ a complete chronology of the has not been presented but the director wants to showcase the love tussle, passion, artistic expression, depression, search for truth and inner mind of the maestro. We hope our first-of-its-kind endeavour turns out to be a milestone in the history of Indian Cinema.”

1st August – 7th August – World Breast Feeding Week 2022

Dr Nuzhat AzizBy Dr. Nuzhat Aziz, Senior Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynecology, Apollo Cradle & Children’s Hospital, Jubilee Hills.

Policy of Zero separation promotes breast feeding

‘In all things of nature, there is something marvelous’ Aristotle

The newborn nurtured and nourished by the mother during pregnancy is now ready to learn to be independent as it starts its new journey in a new world. Naturally, the newborn baby needs nourishment and nurture to help it survive in the new environment. Breastfeeding or lactation is the way that nature uses to ensure that the newborn baby receives all the nourishment it needs and gets all essential nutrients.  Breastfeeding is the gold standard for the baby and the best way to deliver the best possible essential nutrients to the baby. Breastfeeding is a characteristic of all mammals and is a highly evolved process in humans that provides multiple benefits for the mother and her baby.

The trends of breast-feeding rates have declined in the 20th century, from universal breast-feeding to the lowest rates in mid-century (25% from 1945 to 1950).1 The start rates started to increase again in the 1970s as more scientific knowledge regarding the benefits of breastfeeding became available. The increasing evidence of benefits led to a motivated effort to educate women. The change in breastfeeding rates varied across the globe.  India has increased the rates from 55 to 64% as per the latest NFHS 5 survey (Telangana 67 to 68.2%).2 However, the number of babies breastfed in the first hour (initiation) was 42% for India, with many states and districts showing a decrease. Telangana had initiation of breastfeeding within an hour in 38% of women in urban and 36% of women in rural areas.

Why should we prefer and promote breastfeeding? Breastfeeding is the nourishment part of the entire physical, emotional, and social development of a baby. The onset of this psychobiological development is in the first 1000 minutes. Keeping the baby with the mother in the first hour and promoting skin-to-skin contact promotes breastfeeding and prevents the toxic stress of separation in a baby. The early thick milk, colostrum, is an important source of nutrition and immune protection. Keeping the baby with the mother allows for maternal sensitization and release of the hormones (oxytocin/dopamine) that promote promoting bonding and help to prevent post-partum hemorrhage and depression in the mother.

Exclusive breastfeeding can prevent baby deaths due to respiratory infections and diarrhea. Inadequate breastfeeding in India is believed to contribute to 100,000 preventable deaths, and 37 million cases of diarrhea, and costs billions of rupees in healthcare.

Breast-fed babies are found to have better roots of attachment, emotional security, improved long-term psycho-emotional development, and fewer cognitive disorders due to nutritional causes.3

Institutional birth policies, practices, and protocols can influence and promote early initiation of breastfeeding and lead to increased exclusive breastfeeding. All mothers must be informed of the benefits to the baby and the mother from breastfeeding. As care providers, it is our responsibility to provide an environment to ensure privacy during breastfeeding where the mother feels safe and comfortable. Zero separation should be the principle of care at birth to continue nature’s way of providing the best for the baby and mother. After all, a healthy baby and mother are essential for the long term health of the entire species.

We will continue to focus on our mission of empowering rural nanopreneurs and offering a path towards financial freedom to residents of the remotest corners of Madhya Pradesh. I’m confident that Spice Money will continue bringing the underserved population in the state under the umbrella of financial inclusion over the years.”

With the sturdy foundation of the learnings and successes gained from the rural fintech operations, Spice Money has also ventured into the rural travel space with the launch of Travel Union, India’s first B2B rural travel-tech platform that addresses the key challenges faced by rural travel agents and their customers. CBREX empowers Talent sourcing firms of all sizes to harness the power of digitisation

The Covid-19 pandemic underscored how technology is now the mainstay of every organisation’s operations. Digitisation has decisively impacted almost every facet of operations, changing work cultures for all time to come. Businesses are constantly looking for technologies that will not only set them apart, but also help them survive in the new normal.

Curiously though, the recruitment industry remains a laggard. Even as employee engagement, payroll management, and other functions moved into the digital realm, recruiting (for enterprises/employers as well as talent sourcing firms) remained largely traditional.

The recruitment industry is characterised by a large number of small/single-person firms making it a highly competitive industry. This highly competitive environment presents challenges to both talent sourcing firms and employers. Talent sourcing firms and enterprises are keen to leverage technology to make the recruitment process more efficient. However, only a small number of larger talent sourcing firms have the resources to invest in embracing digitisation and technology, leaving most of the industry struggling.

CBREX makes all the difference here. CBREX facilitates seamless interaction between talent sourcing companies and enterprises/employers by offering a single platform for all interactions. Employers can post all their job openings on one platform, and talent sourcing firms and consultants can fill them on the same platform.

CBREX provides talent sourcing firms (of all sizes) with access to validated open requisitions from enterprise employers, including high-margin international mandates and niche talent needs. Furthermore, CBREX enables enterprises to engage with hundreds of talent-sourcing firms to fulfill all their talent requirements – high volume, niche, hard-to-fill, and even international – with one invoice payable to CBREX. From onboarding reputable firms to setting up requirements screening criteria, to scoring resumes for fit, and helping recruiters schedule candidates for interviews, CBREX does it all. CBREX has helped over 100 companies close more than 2000 positions via the platform over the last 12 months.
