Celebrating World Manufacturing Day: Precision Engineering in Furniture Innovation

Furniture manufacturing in India is undergoing a remarkable shift. Consumers today expect a lot more from their living spaces. We’re talking about durability, elegance, and functionality that aligns with their lifestyle. Meeting these expectations requires more than traditional craftsmanship. It calls for advanced engineering, modern materials, and a design philosophy that balances beauty with performance.

For over two decades in India, REHAU has been part of this transformation. With its German heritage of precision engineering, the company has introduced innovative polymer-based solutions that have set benchmarks for quality and reliability. From edgebands that protect and refine furniture, to high-performance laminates and solid surfaces, REHAU has consistently delivered solutions that empower manufacturers and delight end customers.

Precision as the Differentiator

Every detail in furniture matters. An edge that is perfectly sealed, a surface that resists fingerprints, or a shutter that moves smoothly can elevate the entire experience of a home. REHAU’s technologies such as zero-joint edgebands and scratch-resistant laminates ensure that quality is consistent, even in the most demanding applications. These are enhancements on the surface & engineered into the product, providing long-term assurance to both makers and users.

Innovation for Modern Needs

The Indian market is evolving quickly, with growing demand for modular kitchens, smart storage, and premium finishes. REHAU has responded with solutions that combine innovation with practicality. Roller shutters that free up space, solid surfaces that are hygienic and non-porous, and flooring solutions designed for both style and resilience – all reflect a clear understanding of modern living. By investing in local manufacturing at Vadodara, the company has also ensured that these innovations are accessible and responsive to India’s unique needs.

Sustainability as a Standard

Furniture manufacturing today cannot ignore its environmental responsibility. REHAU’s focus on sustainable polymers, lead-free and phthalate-free edgebands, and energy-efficient production processes demonstrates how technology can reduce environmental impact while maintaining uncompromising quality. These steps reflect a long-term vision where design, durability, and sustainability progress together.

AI Fatigue Rising: 59% of Indians Reject “Robot-Only” Travel Planning, Alike survey finds

India, October 2025: Even as AI transforms industries worldwide, Alike’s latest survey reveals early signs of AI fatigue in travel planning. A striking 59% of Indian travellers reject purely automated approaches, instead demanding hybrid solutions where AI collaborates with human expertise.

This shift in sentiment aligns with Alike’s vision for AI in travel, a belief that underpins the recent launch of their AI trip planner, Eia. The platform empowers travellers to co-build and co-create trips with AI while still retaining access to human travel advisors and on-ground support.

According to the survey, 59% of travellers prefer a hybrid model, rejecting “robot-only” planning. Only 11% are comfortable with fully automated itineraries, signaling that while AI has promise, travellers want the human touch for confidence and personalization.

A clear trust gap emerged, with 40% distrusting online-only platforms due to misleading pricing, hidden charges, and poor customer service. This lack of transparency continues to block wider adoption of digital-only booking platforms.

The 25–35 age group, accounting for 62% of responses, is driving the trend toward digital-yet-personal planning. This demographic expects speed, flexibility, and tailored experiences, but not at the cost of authenticity or control.

While 34% prioritize best deals, stress-free processes (28%), and authentic personal advice (20%) are nearly as important. Safety and reliable support also rank high, with 19% citing them as key considerations.

Commenting on the insights, Ashish Sidhra, Co-founder at Alike, said: “These findings confirm what we’ve always believed—AI should be an enabler, not a replacement. Travellers want technology that inspires confidence and enhances personalization, not algorithms that strip away agency. With Eia, we’re shaping a future where AI amplifies human creativity, and humans remain the final custodians of meaningful travel experiences.”

Key Takeaway: The survey underscores a clear shift – travellers value the efficiency of AI, but only when it is paired with human emotion, empathy, and expertise. For Alike, solutions like Eia embody this future—AI as the foundation, humans as the heart of travel planning.

MuleSoft Launches Agent Fabric to Orchestrate AI Agents

India, October 3, 2025: As companies accelerate their adoption of AI, they’re facing an explosion of agents across teams, platforms, and vendors. While this surge holds massive potential, it also introduces a new form of fragmentation — agent sprawl — where disconnected workflows, redundant automations, and compliance blind spots emerge. Without the right foundation, unmanaged agents risk creating chaos instead of driving productivity, making it harder to govern data, enforce security, and deliver consistent customer and employee experiences at scale.

That’s why Salesforce today announced MuleSoft Agent Fabric, a new solution that transforms unmanaged AI agents into a secure and intelligent network. MuleSoft Agent Fabric provides a single place to register, orchestrate, govern, and observe every agent, regardless of where it was built. Much like an air traffic controller ensures planes from different airlines take off, land, and share airspace safely, MuleSoft Agent Fabric acts as the backbone that connects and coordinates an enterprise’s disparate digital workforce, turning chaos into cohesion and transforming fragmented agents into a trusted, high-performing network.

Imagine a global retailer with one agent tracking inventory, another updating prices, and a third detecting fraud. MuleSoft Agent Fabric helps to ensure these agents don’t operate in silos but rather work together. So whenever stock runs low, pricing adjusts automatically and fraud checks happen in real time, all while governance keeps sensitive data secure.

Why it matters

AI agent adoption is projected to surge by 327% in the next two years, with 40% of enterprise applications expected to include agents within a year. Each embedded agent promises to streamline tasks within its own application, but they are blind to the broader enterprise — unable to orchestrate actions across domains and lacking the necessary guardrails for secure, cross-system collaboration.

MuleSoft Agent Fabric delivers the missing foundation — governing, orchestrating, and monitoring agents across ecosystems, so they can work together securely, intelligently, and at scale. This empowers organizations to confidently accelerate their journey to becoming Agentic Enterprises, where humans and AI agents work side by side, with the clarity and control needed to facilitate security and compliance.

MuleSoft is uniquely positioned to tackle this challenge. For over a decade, enterprises have trusted MuleSoft to connect applications, data, and processes across every system. That same heritage in integration and governance now extends to AI agents, so they can interoperate securely across any ecosystem, just as MuleSoft has done for APIs and applications worldwide.

How it works

MuleSoft Agent Fabric helps customers orchestrate and govern their diverse ecosystem of agents with four capabilities that work together to power the Agentic Enterprise:

Discover Any Agent or Tool: MuleSoft Agent Registry is the central catalog where every AI agent or tool — including MCP and A2A servers — can be registered and made discoverable by developers or other agents. This makes every AI asset easy to find, reuse, and compose into workflows, helping enterprises avoid duplication and accelerate delivery.
Orchestrate Agents Across Ecosystems: MuleSoft Agent Broker is an intelligent routing service that organizes AI agents and tools into business-focused domains and dynamically routes tasks across them. Powered by your LLM of choice and connected through A2A and MCP, the Broker enables even the most complex, multi-step processes to execute seamlessly across diverse agents and systems.

Enforce Trust and Security at Every Agent Interaction: MuleSoft Agent Governance provides enterprise-grade guardrails that apply security, compliance, and policy controls to every agent interaction. This allows organizations to scale AI adoption safely, helping to ensure every action is consistent, secure, and aligned with enterprise and regulatory requirements.

Gain End-to-End Visibility into Agent Decisions: MuleSoft Agent Visualizer gives IT teams a dynamic map of their agent ecosystem, showing how agents connect, interact, and perform. By turning black-box AI into transparent, observable systems, it provides the insights needed to optimize performance, prevent failures, and build trust in the agentic workforce.

With Salesforce’s Agentforce customers get a complete platform out of the box for building and deploying autonomous AI agents. MuleSoft Agent Fabric extends Agentforce to orchestrate with other third-party agents that don’t interact through Agentforce.

Go deeper

By providing a single place to orchestrate and govern agents — including those built on but not limited to platforms like Agentforce — MuleSoft Agent Fabric enables AI to solve complex, multi-step business problems across diverse industries:

  • Mortgage Application Automation: MuleSoft Agent Fabric can be used to securely orchestrate the various components of the mortgage application process.

For example, a “Mortgage Assistant” agent — powered by Agentforce and embedded in a banking platform — uses the MuleSoft Agent Broker to intelligently route a single customer inquiry across siloed SaaS and homegrown agents. Agentforce captures the customer’s information, and coordinates with an external Credit Check Agent for real-time credit checks, a DocuSign IAM Agent for secure document signatures, and a homegrown Compliance Agent to enforce regulatory policies. The MuleSoft Agent Registry makes each of these specialized agents easily discoverable for Agentforce, while MuleSoft Agent Governance helps to ensure every external agent interaction — from data access to policy checks — is secure and auditable. This coordinated workflow prevents critical handoffs from failing, reducing delays, errors, and significant compliance risks.

Real-Time Supply Chain Logistics: MuleSoft Agent Fabric can be used to connect disparate systems to create a responsive, intelligent supply chain.

For example, an “Operations Agent” receives a prompt about a potential shipment delay. It uses the MuleSoft Agent Broker to coordinate with a logistics partner’s “Fleet Agent” to re-route a delivery, while an “SAP Agent” updates inventory in real time. A separate “Quality Control Agent” then flags any potential issues at the warehouse. The MuleSoft Agent Visualizer provides IT teams with a clear, interactive view of this complex agent activity, helping them to proactively surface errors and optimize performance. This helps to ensure every insight or decision from an agent triggers the right follow-through across systems.

Partner and Employee Onboarding: MuleSoft Agent Fabric can be used to manage a complex onboarding process for partners.

For example, a “Partner Portal Agent” uses the MuleSoft Agent Broker to coordinate with multiple backend systems. It intelligently routes requests to a “Sales Agent” to assign a new partner ID, to a homegrown “IT Agent” for systems access, and to a “Knowledge Agent” to surface relevant articles and training. With MuleSoft Agent Governance, the IT team can control agent permissions and data access to help ensure the new partner can only see what’s needed for their onboarding, all while maintaining control of company data.

Perspectives

  • The reality is, most enterprises live in a multi-vendor world, and that won’t change with AI. Just as companies rely on countless applications across different ecosystems, they’ll soon have AI agents from every SaaS provider and every major LLM. The strategic challenge isn’t building a single agent, but enabling all of them to work together. MuleSoft Agent Fabric gives every organization the ability to govern and orchestrate all their agents in a cohesive and trusted way.” – Andrew Comstock, SVP and GM of MuleSoft, Salesforce
  • “MuleSoft Agent Fabric gives us the foundation to orchestrate thousands of agents at scale, securely and in real time. It’s more than coordination — it’s the connective tissue for the next generation of enterprise intelligence. By unifying disparate agents into one secure fabric, we help customers evolve from isolated automations to a fully orchestrated, adaptive ecosystem.” – Greg Shewmaker, CEO, r.Potential
  • “As AI agents become critical in processes that drive our day-to-day business operations, governance and transparency are non-negotiable. MuleSoft Agent Fabric provides the guardrails we need to adopt AI responsibly and securely, without slowing down innovation.” – Joris Diependaele, Head of Integration and AI, Barco
  • “MuleSoft Agent Fabric is a strong fit to meet all our compliance and data security requirements across the highly regulated areas of our business and across multiple geographic locations. We can retain control over the infrastructure and also leverage our existing ecosystem to build our agentic future. This hybrid approach gives us the flexibility in solutioning across the organization” – Karthik Palani, Sr Mgr – Eng & Integrations, Wynn and Encore Las Vegas
  • “The future of work is agentic. MuleSoft Agent Fabric lays the foundation for that future by transforming disconnected agents into a cohesive, governed, and high-performing digital workforce.” – Shivani Marrero, Senior MuleSoft Developer, Rush University System for Health

MuleSoft Agent Fabric gives us the foundation to orchestrate thousands of agents at scale, securely and in real time. – Greg Shewmaker, CEO, r.Potential

RAI Welcomes Maharashtra Government Move to Allow Retail Establishments to Operate 24×7

Mumbai, October 3, 2025: Retailers Association of India welcomes the move by Maharashtra Government on permitting all shops and establishments in the State to operate 24×7, except liquor shops. Furthermore, the Government has also clarified that it will be mandatory for the employees to receive a 24-hour weekly holiday.

Commenting on this announcement, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India, expressed, “We, at RAI, have been advocating for this since a long time and we appreciate the Government’s move to help consumers buy when they want and allow retailers to serve at all times. This move will create 5-10% additional jobs, besides providing flexibility and convenience to customers.”

This announcement highlights the progressive vision of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017 and provides much-needed relief to retailers who were facing operational hurdles arising from local enforcement inconsistencies. It will also add an impetus to festive shopping as consumers will now enjoy greater convenience and flexibility of time. Allowing uninterrupted operations not only enhances consumer convenience but also strengthens the retail sector’s role in driving the State’s economy and creating employment opportunities.

Nutriiya AI Nutrition App Launches with 50,000 Dish Scans, 5,000 Users, Free First Month

Mumbai, 3rd October, 2025: India’s first AI-native nutrition app, with more than 5,000+ early sign-ups already in queue, Nutriiya is set to transform the way India approaches healthy eating.

Built from the ground up to understand regional dishes and traditional Indian cooking styles, Nutriiya addresses a gap that global nutrition trackers often fail to solve – accurately tracking caloric and nutritional information of Indian cuisine. Its AI is factored to be able to measure everyday portions such as a katori of daal, a ladleful of curry and half a roti.

The app is powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision. It can identify more than 50,000 Indian dishes by simply scanning a photo of the plate. Once recognised, it adapts to individual dietary needs by offering personalised insights, recommendations and health tips.

“Nutriiya is designed for health-conscious Indians across all age groups but our core demographic falls between ages 22–45, including urban millennials, Gen Z professionals, fitness enthusiasts, and young parents,” said Avanish Agarwal, Founder of Nutriiya. “In our pilot waitlist data, over 60% of early sign-ups were working professionals managing stress, lifestyle diseases, or fitness goals and they wanted something Indian, intelligent, and intuitive.”

Nutriiya also holds potential beyond individual users. By integrating with healthcare providers, the app can support preventive care, lifestyle disease management, and community health initiatives.

To mark its launch, Nutriiya will offer free access for all users during the first month. More than an app, it is positioned as a movement to build a healthier and more aware India, one plate at a time.

Supriya Lifescience’s Ambernath Facility Receives WHO GMP Certification; Paves Way for Formulations Expansion

Mumbai, October 03, 2025: Supriya Lifescience Ltd., a cGMP-compliant business and a leading manufacturer of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), announced that its Ambernath facility has been awarded the WHO Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification, marking a significant milestone in the Company’s growth journey. The certification follows a rigorous audit and now enables Supriya to commence commercial manufacturing and sale of formulations from the facility.

The WHO GMP approval is a turning point for Supriya, as the Ambernath site has been developed as a cornerstone of its expansion beyond APIs into value-added formulations. The facility is designed to produce injectables, tablets, capsules, and inhalation dosages, with a projected revenue potential of nearly Rs 500 crore at peak capacity. Importantly, margins from this business are expected to be higher than the Company’s established API operations.

According to the FY 2024-25 Annual Report, capacity creation at Ambernath has been one of Supriya’s principal initiatives. With the WHO GMP certification in place, the facility can now supply to WHO-listed and regulated global markets, accelerating the Company’s formulations strategy. Together with the Lote Parshuram API site, the expansion takes Supriya’s overall manufacturing capacity to over 1,020 KL, strengthening operational flexibility and asset utilization.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Satish Wagh, Executive Chairman & Whole -Time Director, Supriya Lifescience Ltd. said, “Receiving the WHO GMP certification for Ambernath is a defining achievement for Supriya Lifescience. It validates our quality standards and unlocks the opportunity to scale our formulations business from a state-of-the-art facility. This expansion strengthens our global presence and positions us for sustained growth in higher-margin segments.”

The Ambernath site is also equipped to support R&D, pilot development, and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO/CMO) services, reinforcing Supriya’s ambition to evolve into a diversified pharmaceutical company. The certification and expansion reflect the Company’s focus on regulatory excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation for stakeholders.
