Mumbai Urja Marg’s

Mumbai, November 1, 2022: Mumbai Urja Marg Limited (MUML), a major upcoming power transmission infrastructure project in Mumbai, started a job-oriented training program to train youth in Mumbai and MMR over subsequent batches. The first batch was a resounding success wherein many students got trained and because of that started technical jobs as electricians. Continuing the momentum and learnings from the first batch, the second batch has been launched which has attracted more people to join the program, which is fully sponsored by MUML. The training program allows young men and women to seek industry-relevant skill training to help them find long-term employment opportunities and better pay.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Ganpat Gaikwad, MLA, Kalyan East, Maharashtra; Shri Ninad Pitale, Project Director, MUML in the presence of dignitaries from Mumbai Urja Marg, India, and Niharika Foundation. The event also witnessed the felicitation of students from the first batch who successfully completed the electrician training program and the majority of them got placed.

Vignesh Jadhav, a student who has been selected for training, said, ‘For youngsters like me, it is a great opportunity. I appreciate that the organizers initiated such a career-focused training program that will improve our skills and open up new prospects for us.’

Another student who got placed, Mahesh Prakash Ahir, expressed his gratitude for starting work as an electrician as soon as he completed the Electrician Training Programme. He says, ‘I’m excited to execute the new skill sets which he had learned during the program.’

Nitin Mengal also shared his journey of becoming employable after doing a job-oriented training program. He says, ‘The training program opened new possibilities and opportunities for youngsters like us.’

Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Ninad Pitale, Project Director, Mumbai Urja Marg, congratulated the students and said, ‘Mumbai Urja Marg is committed to training aspiring youth to create sustainable livelihood opportunities that will ensure inclusive growth not only for them but for their families as well.’

A training program like this one is in line with the government’s goal of ‘Kaushal Bharat-Kushal Bharat’ which aims to bring a meaningful impact to the lives of these students and help them grow in their careers.
