business Aug 24, 2026

Bengaluru, Aug 24: The Senator Group India, a subsidiary of the UK-headquartered The Senator Group, a global office furniture manufacturer known for its focus on quality, innovation and sustainability, has unveiled ‘Elate’, a new office chair designed to meet the evolving demands of the country’s fast-growing workplaces. Combining intuitive ergonomic support, personalised comfort, accessible value and carbon-efficient design, Elate brings a fresh approach to task seating-delivering the performance users need without unnecessary complexity.

Elate features a weight-controlled synchronised mechanism, generous recline, adjustable lumbar support and seat depth, seating tension adjustment, and a self-supporting mesh back, designed to work across a variety of environments, from corporate offices and Global Capability Centres to flexible workspaces, collaborative areas and large-scale workstation deployments.

At the heart of Elate is its weight-controlled Body Balance Tilt mechanism, designed to respond naturally to the user’s weight and movement. The mechanism provides up to 18° of recline, enabling users to move comfortably between focused work and more relaxed postures, while a travel limiter and upright lock provide additional control. By making the chair responsive to the individual rather than requiring complex manual adjustment, Elate makes ergonomic seating more intuitive.

Personalised comfort is further supported through 80mm of adjustable lumbar support and 50mm of seat-depth adjustment, allowing users to fine-tune their seating position. The self-supporting mesh back provides breathable support, while the upholstered seat with moulded foam is designed for comfort throughout the working day.

Elate is available in two configurations to suit different workplace requirements. The EE640 offers a clean, armless configuration, while the EE640MF adds height-adjustable multifunctional arms for users who require additional support during extended desk-based work.

Sustainability is integral to the product proposition. Built around Senator’s philosophy of “doing more with less,” Elate has been designed to balance comfort, function and contemporary design while reducing unnecessary complexity. Senator describes Elate as its most carbon-efficient office chair yet, reflecting a design approach that considers environmental impact alongside performance and user experience.

“Elate arrives in India at a time when the country’s workplace landscape is expanding rapidly and organisations are placing greater emphasis on the quality of the employee experience. Record office demand, the continued expansion of Global Capability Centres and the growth of flexible workspaces are driving investment in new and upgraded workplaces across India’s major business hubs,” said Vamsidharr Setty, Managing Director, India, The Senator Group. “Elate reflects our response to this evolving workplace landscape-bringing together intuitive ergonomics, thoughtful design and sustainability in a task chair that offers the flexibility and comfort required by today’s users, while remaining accessible for large-scale workplace deployments.”

The Senator Group India set up its first showroom in India at Bangalore in 2018 with two premium and high-quality brands Senator and Allermuir.  Senator focuses on tech-driven office furniture, while Allermuir offers design-led, contemporary workplace systems and soft seating. Today (through various sales and distribution channels) it has grown to become one of the top choices for customers/corporate office design led soft seating premium brand having garnered over 150+ customer base delivering projects from small to large scale office footprints in the Indian market.
