Ekya SchoolsBengaluru, of September 2023: Scores of people from different walks of life came together for their common cause of promoting community engagement and environmental conservation at the Aryaman Run 2023, a student-led initiative by Ekya Schools, a renowned educational institution in Bengaluru. The focus of the event was on increasing the green cover of Bengaluru.

Dignitaries present at the venue were Mr. K. A. Dayananda, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore Urban, Mr. C K Ramamurthy, MLA, Jayanagar Constituency, Mr. K C Ramamurthy, Chairman at CMR Group of Institutions and Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, President, CMR Jnanadhara Trust.

The event was also graced by the presence of Kannada film and serial actor, Aniruddha Jatkar, actress, and mom-influencer Disha Madan, and Ms. Lasya, a Professional Indian Classical dancer and Actor who played an active role in this initiative.

The Aryaman Run is Ekya School’s annual service-learning initiative that brought together individuals to contribute to the process of improving Bengaluru’s environment through various means, including lake development, reforestation, and conservation efforts. The event is focused on increasing the green cover of Bengaluru through the revival and development of lakes. It served as a platform for children, families, friends, neighbors, and the Ekya alumni to come together on a pleasant Saturday morning run, fostering connections while collectively pledging their support for significantly improving the environment of their beloved city of Namma Bengaluru.

This remarkable event highlighted the dedication and commitment of young minds to make a positive impact on their community and the environment, as the participants ran for the cause through the scenic landscapes of Madiwala Lake, BTM Layout, JP Nagar via Bannerghatta Road and other prime locations.

One of the high points of the event was the careful planning to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants. Support stations were strategically placed every 500 meters, ensuring that runners remained well-hydrated throughout the run. Ekya’s dedicated student volunteers cheered participants, boosting their morale and creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and camaraderie throughout the run.

Speaking on this initiative, Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy, Founder of Ekya Schools says, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year’s Aryaman Run.
