New Delhi, July 31: The Ministry of Ayush has partnered with IndiaAI under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in traditional healthcare, strengthen research capabilities, and promote digital innovation in the Ayush sector.
The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to develop AI-based solutions that can support research, improve healthcare practices, and enhance the use of technology across Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy systems.
Under the collaboration, the Ministry of Ayush will integrate with the AIKosh platform to share eligible healthcare research resources, including datasets, metadata, AI models, toolkits, and practical applications. This will help researchers, innovators, and healthcare professionals collaborate on developing responsible and effective AI solutions.
The initiative will focus on using artificial intelligence for evidence-based research, knowledge management, medicinal plant studies, drug administration, and capacity building, helping the Ayush ecosystem become more technology-driven and future-ready.
Officials said the partnership will bridge the gap between India’s traditional healthcare knowledge and modern digital technologies, creating new opportunities for innovation and improving access to research-based healthcare solutions.
The collaboration will also support the development of AI-enabled platforms under the Ayush Grid initiative, aimed at accelerating digital transformation across the Ayush sector.
By combining traditional medical knowledge with advanced AI capabilities, the initiative seeks to build a stronger, more innovative, and globally relevant healthcare ecosystem for India.
