Advanced medications to quickly cure Avascular Necrosis without surgery

Of the string of maladies that can afflict COVID recovering patients, whilst Black Fungus has been rightly feared. During this long COVID, the possibility of AVN of the hip can be conclusively established by a MRI scan, and successfully treated with bisphosphonates.

With around 3 decades of excellence in treating Avascular Necrosis (AVN), Dr Sanjay Agarwala, has revolutionized the treatment modality for such cases with his latest findings. While most of the patients were being recommended for surgical procedure, Dr Agarwala has been successfully treating it with bisphosphonates.

According to his study and findings, with the use of bisphosphonates, patients in stage 1 had consistently a success rate of 97%, while stage 2 had 93% and stage 3 had 70% success rate, which is certainly better than the off-chance of a possible 50 % success after surgery. Starting from 2001 , different aspects and findings were published in international peer-reviewed Rheumatology , Orthopaedic and Arthroplasty journals. This established the place of the successful management of this condition medically, not only for the hips, but also for the vexing condition in other bones.

This condition can be then controlled, treated, reversed and if picked up early , cured by this treatment methodology described by Dr Agarwala over 20 years in peer reviewed international scientific journals, the latest being in the BMJ case reports this last weekend.

AVN has traditionally had a plethora of surgical procedures, attesting to the fact that no single successful procedure had stood the test of time. Most procedures only seemed to work in the hands of the originators, and literature would suggest at best 50 % good results. 22 years ago, a young gentleman reached me with diagnosis of AVN of the hip, after being recommended for a surgery by multiple senior orthopaedic surgeons. Recognising the reluctance of this patient, and considering that the local affected hip bone would be softened due to the interrupted blood supply, a truly revolutionary treatment was performed, and even after 22 years the patient has a normal cured existence.

Dr Sanjay Agarwala then went on to describe the possibility of the use of these group of drugs , normally used for the correction of osteoporosis ( softening of bones ) for this particular localised bone softening condition. Such revolutionary drugs have been highly beneficial in quick cure for conditions like spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee (SPONK / SONK ), Transient osteoporosis of the hip and bone edema also.

Leukaemia survivors, as young as 15 years of age, with proper treatment, would overcome their disease, but sometimes suffer from debilitating AVN.

Dr Banavali from Tata Cancer hospital, had a cohort of these unfortunate cases. Collaborating with Dr Agarwala and using this regimen, the two doctors published their astonishing work in the global journal of oncology. Their patient Rahul Dhinde, a rustic young child then, had tears of joy when he confirmed that once treated for AVN, he could run and play as an equal with his older brother! A strapping young man now he is delighted to confirm this successful story from his village.

Since the press picked up the story of AVN of the hips from the recent BMJ case-report publication, numerous orthopaedic consultants from all over India, have corroborated Dr Agarwala’s findings.
