Colors Tamil adds an unconventional tale of love to its robust lineup with Kanda Naal Mudhal launching on June 13th

Banking on the notion that matches are made in heaven, Colors Tamil, the meaningful entertainment channel, brings to screen Kanda Naal Muthal, a novel love story of two individuals who might be poles apart but come together due to unforeseen circumstances.

Set to premiere on June 13th, every Monday to Friday, at 8:30 PM; the show narrates the life of Kumaran (played by Actor Navin) who crosses paths with Nandhini (Actor Dharshana) and in a cruel twist of fate ends up marrying her, despite being loggerheads with each other. Tune in to Colors Tamil on 13th June 2022, Monday at 8:30 PM, to watch if love blossoms between Kumaran and Nandini or if they continue to despise each other.

Kanda Naal Mudhal chronicles the life of Kumaran, a constable, and a straightforward man whose entire life revolves around his sister Archana (Actor Rashmitha Roja). Archana, who runs a tiffin centre, wishes to be wed in the same family as her brother. As fate has it, Nakhulan (played by Actor Arun), the son of a rich business tycoon, falls head over heels for her and asks her hand in marriage.

Archana agrees to the marriage on the condition that Kumaran also comes into the same family. Parallelly, Nandhini, Nakhulan’s sister, works in an IT Firm, aspires to move abroad, and marry her love interest. But with destiny having other plans, Kumaran and Nandini get married. How these unique characters who always lock horns, come together, and develop a loving relationship forms the rest of the plot.

Commenting on the occasion, director Radha Krishnan said, “I am delighted to direct Kanda Naal Mudhal. It has an eccentric plotline with significant characters who have their set of dreams and desires. How each of the characters fulfil their dreams while also balancing their relationships is the crux of the story. Furthermore, it was a treat to direct such a terrific ensemble with tremendous acting prowess, with the rustic locations serving as a complement. I am grateful that Colors Tamil has given me the opportunity to be a part of the show where all characters represent an important facet of society.”

Commenting on the launch, Actor Navin said, “I am happy to be associated with Colors Tamil for the second time after Idhayathai Thirudathey. The reason I chose the script for the show is the distinctive storyline and the character itself. It is for the first time that I am essaying the role of the cop and had to work very hard to get to the skin of Kumaran. Bringing to spotlight a pool of talent from different parts of the country, Colors Tamil, the meaningful entertainment channel, is all set to launch a brand new talent show, Vellum Thiramai, starting this Saturday, June 4th, at 7pm. Vellum Thiramai, powered by Vasanth & Co. AC Mela and Special Partner Eldia Thuya Thenga Ennai, is the Tamil adaptation of Viacom18’s popular homegrown talent show, Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan. It features charming Actor Nikki Galrani, popular Actor and Karate Expert Shihan Hussaini and renowned Choreographer Sridhar as judges.

Vellum Thiramai marks a one-of-a-kind talent show that puts forth the best of the acts from across India while also providing a platform in a special segment for regional and local talents who will present stunning renditions from dancing to magic, martial arts & other talents which viewers never seen. The hour-long show will span over 16 episodes, with VJ Andrews hosting it.

Colors Tamil celebrates May Day with a lineup of insightful shows

Mumbai, May, 2022: Colors Tamil has curated an interesting line up of shows on the occasion of International Workers Day (also known as May Day). The channel will host a Sirappu Pattimandram powered by Market of India and Cardia Advanced Nazha Ennai at 09:00 am followed by the World Television Premiere of “Writer”, a nail-biting thriller directed by debutant director Franklin Jacob at 4:30 pm with Eldia Thuya Thenga Ennai and Lalitha Jewellery as Special Partners and Pottiku Potti – May Day Special at 8:00 pm. Tune into Colors Tamil, this Sunday 1st May starting 9 am to celebrate the contributions of workers.

Kickstart the day with Sirappu Pattimandaram, an engrossing debate show that will raise questions on which gender is socially more responsible ¬ men or women ¬ moderated by renowned orator Sivakasi Ramachandran. Orator Palani, Actor-writer Rajmohan, Orator Kalpakkam Revathi, Orator Navajothi, Orator Ezhilarasi,and Orator Kalpana Darmendara will pit against each other, striving to reach a conclusion.

Furthermore, the movie “Writer” (presented by the accomplished Director Pa.Ranjith) stars renowned South Indian actor Samuthirakani, Harikrishnan and Ineya in lead roles while Govind Vasantha’s music powerfully elevates the script. Taking the audience through an immersive experience, the protagonist, Thangaraj (Actor Samuthirakani), a writer in a police station, who has his own moral balance, falls into an illegal custody.

Things take a turn for the worse when Devakumar (Actor Hari Krishnan) gets caught in a complex situation as a casteist Deputy Commissioner pulls unnecessary strings to defend himself, leading to the arrest of Devakumar. The movie takes the audience back in time, projecting the flashback of the oppressed who voice out the injustices in the society and hierarchical systems, taking the audiences this weekend on an emotional roller-coaster.

Followed by the movie Writer, Potikku Potti – a May Day Special ¬ will feature a special segment in which auto-driver Raji Ashok, delivery woman Antony Bavan and Doctor Munaivar Gomathi will be felicitated for their service to the community.

Antony Bavan, who works as a delivery agent, earned praise from her company for not shirking from her duties even at the height of the Coronavirus Pandemic. She even continued to deliver packages when the entire city was flooded during the heavy rains in the month of November.

Raji Ashok, an auto-driver, had caught the attention of the state by offering free rides to needy people, right from those who need to get to the hospital to school kids who can’t afford to pay for a taxi or an auto. She also provides free education to 11 orphan kids even though she himself doesn’t earn a lot.

Dr Munaivar Gomathi does free eye check-up camps in different villages and also hands out spectacles for free, becoming a messiah for many.

Commenting on the occasion, renowned orator Sivakasi Ramachandran said, “Festivals and special days in Tamil Nadu include one celebratory aspect that is unique to the state ¬ Pattimandrams. I am glad to be moderating Sirappu Pattimandram for the first time on Colors Tamil. It is high time that we were discussing a topic like this and understand how we perceive gender roles in the society, especially with the transforming norms in the society.”

Producer Pa. Ranjith said, “I am glad to have produced the film, considering the societal purpose it conveys. This film will always hold a special place in my heart. Mumbai, 30th December 2021: Lord Murugan and Goddess Valli’s love story is one of the most famous in Tamil literature. Valli Thirumanam, Colors Tamil’s latest show, recreates this impassioned tale with a contemporary twist. The show is all set to premiere on January 3, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. Valli (played by Actor Nakshathra), an out-of-the-ordinary country belle who leaves no stone unturned for her loved one. Valli is the protagonist of the drama which has an intriguing storyline. Set in the beautiful backdrop of Theni, Valli Thirumanam revolves around Valli, a warm-hearted woman moneylender, trying to make her place in the patriarchal world. Surrounded by people attempting to trick and betray her, Valli effuses a unique personality with her no-nonsense attitude and powerful demeanour, while camouflaging her kind and helpful nature beneath.

Karthik, on the other hand, is courteous and soft-spoken. He wants his better half to have the same attributes as he does. The plot is around how these two contrasting characters, who are diametrically opposed, come together and form a unique relationship.

The fiction show features a larger-than-life star cast with Nakshathra (Valli) and Shyam (Karthik) in the lead roles along with Actor Nalini (Vadivu), Comedian Nanjil Vijayan (Gundurasu), and Actress Gayathri Jayaram (Vasundra) playing supporting characters.
