75 Lakh Domestic Tourists Visit Kerala’s Thriving Amusement Industry

Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) which is apex body representing the interests of Amusement Park, Theme park, Water park, Snow Park, Adventure Park, Indoor amusement centres, Games Zone in India organized “Kerala Member Meet” in Kochi. Kerala state is a leading destination for the amusement park industry having all major segments.  

Mr. A I Shalimar, Director and Southern region Chairman – IAAPI said Amusement sectors on its own attracts over 75 lakh visitors and is a major driver of domestic tourism in the state. Regional training program was organized for the 1st time with live demonstration on Fire Safety, First Aid & CPR by trainer from National Safety Council of India (NSCI) & Importance of Lifeguard & Water Treatment in water park with the objective to improve service quality standard, guest relations, increases employee awareness, help retain talent, boost productivity of employees. Regional Training received an overwhelming response from industry members with over 80 delegates participating from across Kerala.

Mr Maneesh Verma – Director & Membership Chairman – IAAPI said that the objective of the meet was to connect with members from the state to understand core issues faced by the industry and take feedback & suggestions to represent them with respective ministries at state & central government. He highlighted various initiatives and  activities undertaken by the association under its umbrella to promote the amusement & theme park industry as key drivers in developing domestic tourism in the country.

Members discussed improving quality services to guests, support of the state tourism board in promoting amusement parks and theme parks in the state’s promotion campaign, increasing member services and promoting the amusement sector as key drivers in domestic tourism in the state.
