Financial Times ranks EDHEC Master in Finance among world’s Top 5

EDHEC Business School’s Masters in Finance programme ranks 5th in the world, according to the 2022 Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking, released today. EDHEC, which the FT named a Top 10 European Business School earlier this year, offers students impressive opportunities for career and salary advancement, and maintains an elite standing among Finance programmes in Europe and around the world.

In this edition of the Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking, EDHEC maintained its 3rd place ranking in Career Progression, and climbed 7 places in the category of Career Services to clinch 7th place overall. The salary of EDHEC Masters in Finance graduates (after three years of work experience) also witnessed a 16% increase compared to last year’s ranking, for an average of $100,666 (USD) per year.

In terms of International Course Experience and International Mobility, the EDHEC Masters in Finance also ranked well: placing 4th and 8th respectively. For overall student satisfaction, the programme scored an impressive 9 out of 10. Although this score was not included in the final Financial Times ranking, it is an indication of the high calibre of education provided by EDHEC and the value of this education in the eyes of graduates.

“We are thrilled to receive such a strong endorsement of our Masters in Finance programme,” says Michelle Sisto, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at EDHEC. “We are grateful for the positive feedback from our graduates, and to know that they are succeeding in their careers thanks to the education they received at EDHEC. Our mission is to educate financial managers who will have an impact, and that’s exactly what our graduates do every day, no matter where they find themselves in the world.”

EDHEC has a long history of providing cutting-edge Finance education and is proud of its reputation as a global leader. Besides the master’s in finance, EDHEC also offers a PhD in Finance. Recently, the school hosted its 5th annual Finance PhD Forum, during which current and past doctoral students discussed their research with Finance practitioners from around the globe.

Earlier this year, EDHEC hosted a Future of Finance webinar series that invited top experts and some of the school’s professors to debate and discuss important finance issues. The webinar series attracted attention from top financial journalists who recognised EDHEC’s authority in the field and wanted to take a deep dive into the subjects discussed.

Last fall, EDHEC launched a new MSc in Climate Change & Sustainable Finance, which aims to prepare future finance managers to lead the way in reducing carbon emissions and creating a greener planet. Members of the first class of this MSc recently graduated in a ceremony on EDHEC’s Lille campus.

Indian students at EDHEC attend on-ground graduation ceremonies in France for the first time since COVID-19 outbreak

EDHEC Business School, one of the Financial Times Top 10 European Business Schools, recently hosted a series of graduation ceremonies following the French government’s decision to lift most COVID-imposed restrictions.

Indian students – 155 in total – from the classes of 2020 and 2021, who could not come together in previous years due to the pandemic, walked to the stage to receive their diplomas. Students’ families attended the graduation ceremonies in person and via Live Stream worldwide, including in India.

At the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, EDHEC cancelled on-campus activities and moved course delivery online to mitigate infection. Graduation ceremonies were also impacted, and students who missed their graduations looked forward to the day when they could wear their graduation cap and gown and receive their diploma.

After France lifted mask mandates in March, EDHEC began hosting on-campus ceremonies for students who missed their original graduation date. This meant that students from the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 finally got the opportunity to mark the end of their studies at EDHEC with their professors and classmates.

“My brother was able to attend the ceremony with me, and it was amazing for both of us,” said Aditi Gupta, a member of the Class of 2020, who received her MSc in Corporate Finance from EDHEC. “The best part was when EDHEC professors and staff went up on stage, and we were able to thank them for all they did for us during our studies. They are the backbone of the school, and they made the journey smooth for us.”

Gupta’s parents, who could not attend the ceremony, watched a Live Stream of the event from their home in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Gupta’s extended family also joined the Live Stream to celebrate her achievements, including graduating cum laude and securing a position as Deputy Manager at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, India, where she works in the company’s Financial Advisory practice.

Harsh Vardhan from New Delhi, who officially graduated a year ago, celebrated his Masters in Management and Global MBA with friends and professors on campus in France. He is employed as a Brand Specialist with Amazon UK and is based in Manchester, UK.

“COVID-19 made everything unpredictable,” he said. “So, when the original ceremony was cancelled, I was not surprised. But it was a surreal and emotional moment for me to eventually attend the graduation ceremony with my friends and classmates. They came from around the world to revisit the unforgettable memories we created at EDHEC.”

Families in attendance were impressed by the large amphitheatre and the long ramp built for the ceremony. Giant video screens provided an unhindered view of graduates’ happy faces. Parents watching the Live Stream from India felt proud of their children.

“My parents had tears in their eyes,” said Vardhan, who is. “They are so proud of me for graduating from one of the best schools in the world. All their years of hard work and dedication in raising me into a responsible professional paid off, and they could see it with their own eyes.”
