ICSSR Takes Center Stage at Frankfurt Book Fair 2024

Frankfurt, October 2024 – The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) proudly participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024 as part of the India National Stand, celebrating the theme Republic, a reflection of India’s remarkable journey of nation-building, freedom, equality, and governance.

ICSSR showcased its extensive work in the field of social and human sciences, setting up a dedicated book stall at the prestigious global event. Professor Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, ICSSR, welcomed the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt, to the ICSSR stall, in the esteemed presence of National Book Trust (NBT) Chairman, Dr. Milind Marathe, and Director of NBT, Yuvraj Malik.

During his visit, the Consulate General emphasized the importance of strengthening Indo-German collaboration in the field of social science research. He highlighted the role such initiatives play in fostering greater understanding and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in academic and intellectual spheres.

A key highlight of ICSSR’s participation was the international launch of the book “Lord Shiva in India and Abroad”. The event attracted significant attention from the global literary community and highlighted India’s rich cultural and philosophical heritage.

The launch ceremony was graced by eminent personalities from the literary and academic world, including Dr. Milind Marathe, Chairman of the National Book Trust (NBT), Dr. K. Sreenivasarao, Secretary of the Sahitya Akademi, and Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, a distinguished Sahitya Akademi Council Member. Their presence underscored the importance of cultural exchange and the role of Indian research in shaping the global intellectual landscape.

“Lord Shiva in India and Abroad” is a remarkable work that delves into the deep spiritual and cultural significance of Lord Shiva, not just within India but also in various cultures and countries around the world. The book explores how the worship of Lord Shiva transcends borders, symbolizing India’s profound influence on world spirituality.

The Frankfurt Book Fair provided an excellent platform for ICSSR to showcase its research and publications and to engage with scholars, publishers, and readers from across the globe.
