PSR Sustainability Foundation teams up with Mumbai Dabbawala for Historic Pune expansion

Pune, 06 March 2024: PSR Sustainability Foundation, a leading sustainability organization has joined forces with Dabbawalas, Mumbai’s lunch box delivery system for its expansion in Pune. The collaboration between these two organizations will offer freshly cooked tiffins through Dabbawala’s seamless, reliable and efficient food delivery system. Notably, this is the first time that the Mumbai Dabbawala will be expanding its services beyond Mumbai.

The tiffins will be prepared at Muk’ti Kitchen, an initiative by the PSR Sustainability Foundation and supported as part of the CSR activity of KSB Group. Muk’ti Kitchen is a unique women-led initiative which is committed to quality, hygiene, and social impact and stands as a beacon of hope for women’s empowerment and community development.

PSR Sustainability Foundation aims to deliver around 5,00,000 tiffins (1000-1500/day) in Pune by the end of 2024 through this collaboration with Dabbawala. Moreover, the PSR Sustainability Foundation plans to achieve a target of providing livelihood to 100+ women through the women-led initiative – Muk’ti Kitchen. Besides, it plans to offer its services in Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai and Thane starting 2025.

Mr. Prashik Bhalerao, Director, PSR Sustainability Foundation said, “It is an honour to join hands with the legendary Dabbawala. Every 100 meals served by PSR Sustainability Foundation’s, Muk’ti Kitchen not only nourishes the body but also supports the livelihoods of 4-6 women and their families. Furthermore, the revenue generated will be reinvested into community development initiatives, including education and healthcare support.”
