LEGACY MODI

The evening featured a distinguished assembly, including chief guest Senior Advocate Shri R. Venkataramani, Ld. Attorney-General for India, and Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Member – HR, Capacity Building Commission, Government of India, and the author of the book. The theme, “Leadership through Indic Wisdom,” explored how traditional Indian ethos has influenced Prime Minister Modi’s 50-year public service journey.

Power Within offers a profound exploration of leadership, contrasting Western theories with Indian perspectives. The book reveals how Modi’s self-discovery and adherence to Indic wisdom have shaped his approach to governance and leadership, presenting a fresh, introspective take on leading with purpose and integrity in today’s world.

Prof Mukti Kanta Mishra, President of Centurion University, shared, “It has been an immense honour to witness the launch of Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi in Eastern India. This book captures the essence of our Prime Minister, a man of a million missions, whose leadership is a true manifestation of the power from within. Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a ‘Skilled India’ has always resonated deeply with us at Centurion University, where we strive to empower communities and shape lives through education and skill development. Dr. Balasubramaniam’s work is not just a tribute but a guide for future leaders. I believe this book will inspire many and is an essential read for every Indian.

Speaking on Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Shri Rajib Sekhar Sahoo, Eminent Chartered Accountant, remarked, “Visionary leaders are not afraid to take risks and try new things. Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi is certainly a visionary leader and has never been afraid of taking risks, trying new things, and leading from the front in the reform process, whether in social, political, geographical, or economic changes. The last 10 years of his tenure as Prime Minister have seen some of the biggest reforms that the country has witnessed. The author in his book, Power Within, has explained in different chapters how Shri Narendra Modi has visualized a new India with all-round success, giving value to the ancient Indian Vedic theories, contrary to the illusory Western thought process.”

Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Author of Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi, said, “It is both humbling and gratifying to see the reception of Power Within here in Eastern India. This book is a reflection of my deep admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s unique leadership journey, which is rooted in the timeless wisdom of our civilization. My aim was to present not just the story of a leader but the story of leadership itself- ones that are deeply connected to our cultural ethos and the values that guide us as a nation. I hope that readers will find inspiration in these pages and see the potential within themselves to lead with integrity, purpose, and seva bhao.”

Shivraj Singh Chouhan Attends Emergency Anniversary Conclave

New Delhi, June 27, 2024: “Those who claim to safeguard the Constitution and parade it around have no right to touch it after what they did with the Constitution in 1975,” said Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as he graced the conclave titled “Reflecting on India’s Dark Days,” organised by the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (NaMo Kendra- CNMS) in collaboration with Mahamana Malaviya Mission and Pragya Sansthan at the India International Center, New Delhi, to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the Emergency.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan graces Conclave on 49 Anniversary Emergency

In his address, Chouhan highlighted the resilience of Indian democracy and the valuable lessons learned from this dark chapter in history. “Dictatorship runs in Congress’ DNA. They wanted autocracy. Three judges were demoted and one judge was promoted to pass their (Congress’) rulings. The elections were cancelled and Indira Gandhi ji won through the misuse of government and the administration,” Chouhan said.

While Sharing his personal experiences, he added, “During the Emergency, I was also arrested and sent to jail and beaten with sticks. I was only 17 years old at that time. I was beaten ruthlessly while in custody, and I still feel the effects of that torture. The physical and emotional scars from that period remain with me to this day.” He also recounted a deeply personal loss, saying, “One of the most painful memories for me is that when my grandmother died, she couldn’t see me because I was imprisoned during the Emergency.”

The conclave began with a tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan, followed by inaugural remarks from Professor Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies who emphasized the necessity of educating the youth about the Emergency and its long-term effects on the nation. Professor Jasim Mohammad informed that the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies will continue to organize conferences, workshops, seminars, and symposiums on the theme “Dark Emergency” throughout 2024-2025 in schools, colleges, and universities.

Guest of Honour Jatinder Kumar from the USA, who played a significant role abroad in conveying the plight of the Indian people to world leaders during the Emergency, delivered an impactful address. “During the Emergency, RSS members worked tirelessly to highlight the trauma and suffering faced by the people of India, informed other country leaders about the atrocities being committed by the Indira Gandhi Government,” he said. Jatinder Kumar emphasized, “RSS is the organization that saved democracy in India. They fought relentlessly for democratic values and stood firmly against the Emergency,”.

Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, in his presidential address, stated, “Imposing the Emergency was a murder of democracy and it was completely unnecessary. The actions taken during that period were unjustifiable.” He urged people to pursue legal action against the Indira Gandhi family for their actions during that dark period, stating, “In today’s times, people should file cases against the Indira Gandhi family in the Supreme Court for what they did during the Emergency period.”

Rambahadur Rai also recalled his personal experience, noting that when he was arrested, newspapers were restricted in prisons. He stated, “We informed our families about this, and when a dedicated worker Narendra Modi heard about the restriction of newspapers, he personally ensured that all newspapers were sent to us in prison, which kept us informed about the outside world during that challenging period.”

The conclave also featured a presentation of books and mementos to the esteemed guests, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the discourse on the Emergency.

Other distinguished guests of honour at the conclave including Prof. Raj Kumar Bhatia, former President of ABVP in 1975, who shared his experiences of student activism during the Emergency, emphasizing the role of youth in defending democracy, and Rajendra Agrawal, former Member of Parliament, who spoke about the need for collective memory and education on historical events like the Emergency to prevent the repetition of such dark times and to strengthen democratic institutions.

General Election-2024 makes everyone happy, EVMs went well

By Dr Birbal Jha

New Delhi, 5. 6.2024

The Indian democracy, which is the largest one by electoral practice, is booming and thriving. It has become more inclusive. It is no longer in danger. Contrary claims were made by several opposition leaders throughout the election campaign that recently took place. The results with a clear picture are out. The constitution of the country is intact. However, the electoral constitution of the lower house has drastically changed. Everyone has a reason to grin and smile as there is something for everyone. Some may clink glasses and say cheers.

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), with its allies under the National Democratic Alliance, is all set to form the government for the third consecutive term, which is historic, and is happy about having won 240 seats on its own, which is far more than the opposition’s combined total of 233.

Congress is pleased that it has improved its position from 52 in 2019 to 99 in 2024.
JDU, with its 12 wins, though it lost four seats against 16 in the 2019 election, is happy about returning to the fold of the NDA, which is to continue to rule. However, JDU as one of the kingmakers will have a greater say now in the policy decision.

The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh was jailed for some time, is out on bail, and is all set to be the next CM of the state with a thumping majority in the assembly election and 16 precious seats in the 18th Lok Sabha as an important ally in the formation of the central government led by Narendra Modi, who too is happy about retaining the prime ministerial position, though with reduced numbers.

RJD, which could not open its account in the 2019 election, has got four seats this time. So, it is on cloud nine. It is fluttering too much, pinning a hope to rope in Nitish Jee to be in the INDIA alliance.

TMC, which was projected to lose to the BJP, has been able to retain its position by winning 37 seats and unseating the BJP from 6 constituencies in West Bengal.

Shiv Sena, led by Udhav Thakrey, is happy about its position as it has gained a lion’s share of 21 seats in Maharashtra, though it has lost the party symbol to the breakaway group, which is Shiv Sena, led by CM Eknath Sindhe, who is also seen grinning with seven seats.

The Samajwadi Party, led by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is pleased to be considered as the third-largest party in Lok Sabha, with 37 seats, up from 5 in 2019. Hence, there is a big celebration at SP headquarters.

The happiest one is Chirag Paswan, President of the Lokjansakti Party, which won five seats, fielding only five candidates. Thus, he has tasted a 100 per cent result. Aam Adami (AAP) gaining three seats in the lower house of India for the first time is also happy, as its national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, has returned to Tihar Jail to save the democracy from dictatorship, as he said. The Election Commission of India is reported to be happy as no party has come forward to make an allegation against EVMs being rigged or hacked. A free and fair general election was held over six weeks in scorching heat.

The citizens across the country are happy about their political affiliations, as each party, has got something or other.
