CWMA’s Institute of Skill Development ExSkill Developmentpands to the North-East with Inauguration of ‘The Literary Mavericks’ in Guwahati

Guwahati, 14th September 2024 – CWMA’s Institute of Skill Development, a registered Mumbai-based literary forum led by its visionary Founder, Mrs. Rachana Ranjan Chakraborty, celebrated the inauguration of its North-East wing, “The Literary Mavericks,” at the Guwahati Press Club. The event saw the presence of several eminent guests who came to mark this significant milestone.

The ceremony began with a traditional Bharatnattyam Ganesh Vandana dance performance, setting a culturally rich tone for the occasion. Following the performance, all the esteemed guests were honored with the traditional Assamese Gamucha as a token of appreciation and respect. Prof. Rachana Chakraborty, the founder, then delivered a dynamic introductory speech, highlighting the organization’s vision for the North-East region.

During the event, Barnana Acharjee, a teacher at Srimanta Sankar Academy, was officially appointed as the Treasurer of the North-East wing by Mrs. Chakraborty. This announcement was followed by an inspiring address from Ms. Rachaita Chakraborty, Youth President of the Mumbai region. She shared her insights on her association with the organization and extended her heartfelt congratulations to the newly formed youth team of Assam.

The highlight of the event was the Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Creative Summer ’24, which was held online in July. The students, who had eagerly awaited this moment, finally received their well-deserved trophies, adding a joyous conclusion to the day.

RCPSDC signs MoU with Paripatram to drive skill development in India’s E-Waste Management Sector

New Delhi. September 06, 2024: In another significant step towards revolutionizing waste management in India, the Rubber, Chemical, and Petrochemical Skill Development Council (RCPSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Paripatram. The partnership focuses on enhancing skills and formalizing labor within India’s rapidly growing waste sector, a sector crucial for both environmental sustainability and economic growth.

As India becomes one of the largest producers of electronic waste globally, Paripatram aims to lead in directly addressing this problem head-on. This partnership will work to integrate informal workers into the formal economy, enhancing their livelihoods, while encouraging waste handling practices across the country. The initiative aligns with key national missions like Skill India, Clean India, and Made in India, demonstrating Paripatram’s dedication to promoting sustainable development and creating a skilled, certified workforce in the waste management sector.

Adani Foundation sets up Skill Development Centre for fishing community- Thirumalainagar, Lighthouse Panchayat

Chennai: 11th July, 2024: Creating an opportunity for women from the fishing communities to be skilled to be employable and become entrepreneurs. Adani Kattupalli Port through its CSR program aims to provide a platform to skill 240 women in Self-employed Tailor (SET) every year and to empower them to be independent and contributing member in the family. The Skill Centre inaugurated by Mr. Durai Chandrasekar, MLA, Ponneri Constituency, Mr. Waghe Sanket Balwant IAS, Sub Collector, Ponneri, Tiruvallur District, Capt. Madhanmohan, COO, Adani Kattupalli and Ennore Ports, Traditional Leaders, Village Panchayat Presidents, Councilors, Ward Members, and community members.

Till now, the Foundation has provided training to 750 students through its skilling program out of which 70% of got job placement with various employers. Adani Kattupalli Port is planning to establish to provide skilling to youth in various domains eg Auto Sector, Port operation related and Finance & Acounting in coming years. Rodic’s supports women empowerment and skill development in Rural India

New Delhi, Jan 31, 2024: In a significant stride towards community wellbeing, Rodic Consultant Pvt Ltd, sponsors a Women Empowerment and Skill Development program in the interior of Bihar. As a CSR initiative, the company has come as a financial supporter in setting up various centers for training women in the Jamui district of Bihar where women from underprivileged communities will be given free training in sewing and embroidery. The training programs are conducted by Lok Sewak Sansthan a registered NGO in Sono, Jamui. The program focuses on imparting sewing and embroidery skills to tribal women in the 20-30 age group.

Inaugurated in the month of November and has expanded to three units, with plans underway to open the fourth unit soon. The total number of women enrolled in the training program has reached an impressive count of 90, reflecting the widespread enthusiasm and participation from the local community. Rodic’s emphasis on skill development aligns with the nation’s overarching Mahila Vikas and Swrozgar missions for women and community development creating equal opportunity for economic growth and development for the neglected ones living in the backward areas of the country.

By sponsoring training sessions conducted by Lok Sewak Sansthan in Jamui, the company aims to the upliftment the status of the marginalized women in these regions. Mumbai Urja Marg to expand potential of Mumbai’s youth in skill development

Mumbai Urja Marg, a critical transmission infrastructure project coming up in Mumbai, announced partnership with Siemens Aikya Education & Welfare Trust to initiate a skill development and training programme for youngsters in Mumbai. Aligned with the government’s vision of ‘Kaushal Bharat-Kushal Bharat’, this initiative will aim to train more than 200 youngsters, in phases, in the Mumbai Metropolitan region. With an aim to make them job ready, the training program will offer youngsters a chance to pursue industry-relevant skill training that can assist them to obtain sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The programme was inaugurated today at Neral in the presence of Mr Ninad Pitale, Project Director- Mumbai Urja Marg;  Mr Rajesh Sharma- Secretary and Treasurer, BJP Kalyan Badlapur Region; Mr Avinash Bhopi, Corporator- Kulgaon Badlapur Nagar Parishad; Mr Ashok Rane, Chairman- Siemens Aikya Education & Welfare Trust; Mr Girish Ashtekar, Secretary- Siemens Aikya Education & Welfare Trust and a prominent social worker, Mr Haresh Dhule.

The first batch of the training program will be composed of 20 students, shortlisted through an entrance test. The shortlisted students will go through a three-week rigorous training program that will involve a mix of practical and theoretical modules to acquaint them with the basics of electrical training. The training pedagogy has been designed to help the students acquire the required skill set to start working in electrical workshops and with contractors. On the successful completion of the course, the trainees will receive a certificate as well as career counselling and placement assistance.

Hritik Arun Virle, shortlisted student in the first batch, said, ‘It is a great initiative for youngsters like me.  I had the basic knowledge of electrical training but with this training program, which is a mix of theory and practical, the knowledge would be complete and will make me job ready.

Another student, Yash Kailas Bhoir said, ‘I am grateful to the organizers, local administration for starting this kind of job-focused training program.  The training would help us become skilled and open up numerous possibilities for us.

Speaking on this initiative, Ninad Pitale, Project Director, Mumbai Urja Marg said: “We, at Mumbai Urja Marg are committed towards making a positive social impact on the communities wherein we operate. Our core purpose of providing skill development training to unemployed and underprivileged youth is to create opportunities for them so that they can attain their full potential. We have started with the first batch and in future more batches would be added to ensure a wider reach and impact”.

India, Jan 17, 2022: Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan Limited (SUCRL) has partnered with AISECT ltd. to establish and operate Skill Development and Solar Training Institute at Phalodi under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Local Area Development (LAD) programme to encourage the youth of Rajasthan to take up skill training and benefit from employment and self-employment opportunities thereafter.

Under this program, AISECT Ltd. will facilitate training for approximately 500 candidates every year and will provide assistance with opportunities for employment and self-employment. The institute is providing training in Solar PV Installer, Tailoring, Data Entry Operator, Plumbing job roles. Shri Keshav Prasad (CEO of SUCRL) informs that this special skill training program was started in 2019 in partnership with AISECT Ltd. to enforce the strong social commitment of SUCRL towards the larger society. Shri Keshav Prasad said that new courses will be introduced in future so that candidates can access training opportunity according to their interest.
