Ho! Ho! Holly Jolly Christmas at Growel’s 101 Mall

Mumbai, December 28, 2023: Radiating in the glow of Christmas decorations, Growel’s 101 Mall, Suburban Mumbai’s beloved family destination, presented a joyous Christmas weekend for its customers with the ‘Ho! Ho! Holly Jolly Christmas’ celebrations.

The magnificent, glittering Christmas Tree positioned in the mall’s atrium is providing the ideal backdrop to capture the festive cheer of the season. The festive gate at the mall’s entry and the overall decor theme of the mall this Christmas revolved around the artistic renditions of gift boxes, symbolising the spirit of giving during Christmas, complemented by various other enchanting Christmas elements.

Special activities at Growel’s 101 included the magic of Santa Home Visits on December 23rd – exclusively through photo contests, Meet & Greet with Santa on December 24th, and on Christmas Day, December 25th, the spectacular ‘Santa Parade’ saw children completely mesmerised as they joined the parade around the mall. Throughout the weekend leading up to Christmas, there were an array of DIY workshops and entertaining games suitable for both children and families.

But the excitement doesn’t end here till 7th January 2024, about 24 couples will win ‘Dinner Vouchers’ and one lucky couple will win a grand Mega Prize of a holiday trip to Dubai.

New Delhi, December 17, 2023: The Interfaith ‘Christmas Festival’ ” Kristu Mahotsav- 2024″ is a great initiative, which is not just about celebrating or exchanging gifts but is also about peace and harmony, with the motto “Include Everyone Exclude None”.

According to Justice C.T. Ravi Kumar, a Supreme Court judge and the chief guest of the event organized by the Chavara Cultural Centre, the festival emphasizes staying on Earth to find heaven here rather than searching elsewhere. The event was themed ‘Celebrating Diversity – Celebrating Bharat’ and took place at the Diocesan Community Centre, Ashok Place, Gol Dak Khana, Delhi.

The festival aimed at spreading joy among differently-abled children from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. The festivities were also live-streamed on YouTube. Justice C.T. Ravi Kumar, after inaugurating the event, was joined by prominent figures like Archbishop Anil Couto of Delhi, Archbishop Kuriakose Bharanikulangara of Faridabad, and Dr. Father Martin Mallath CMI, General Counselor for Education and Media, who addressed the audience.

The main celebrants, including Father Varghese Vallikkat, and Fr Norbert Herman SVD, shared their thoughts.

The festival showcased cultural programs in art, literature, and culture, bringing together Episcopal churches, various communities, and regional people in unity, mirroring the diversity in unity, akin to celebrating an Indian festival.

Special guests at the event included Lok Sabha Member Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, Vice-Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities K.K. Debu, and Sushil Goswami Ji Maharaj, National Coordinator of the Indian Multi-Faith Parliament. The event also witnessed the presence of Swami Chandra Dev Ji, Founder Chairman of the Global Sant Society, Sufi Ajmal Nizami, Trustee of the Nizamuddin Dargah, Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar, Chief of the Delhi Jewish community, and Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok from CIHTS (Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies) in Varanasi, Sri. Vivek Muniji Maharaj, Mrs. Carmel Tripathi, Mrs A Dhanalakshmi, Joint Secretary DST.

Speaking about Christmas, Archbishop Anil Couto said, “Christmas conveys a message of peace, joy, hope, and love. We are celebrating this Christmas with the message of love and unity, connecting hearts and making it a festival for India.”

Dr. Fr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, Director Chavara Cultural Centre Delhi, organizer of the program, said , ” Christmas is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus- the prince of love who included everyone and excluded none. The light of selfless love of Christ will expel the darkness of hatred and jealousy from this world. Celebrating Christmas with differently abled children heals the wounded humanity.”

Advocate Dr. K.C. George praised the differently-abled children, extending Christmas greetings and expressing the hope that the festival would contribute to their health and education. He described it as a festival of hearts, aiming to spread brotherhood and goodwill in the country.

Father Martin Mallath, CMI, Chairman of the Chavara Cultural Centre, commented on the festival, calling it an initiative for interfaith dialogue, art, literature, and cultural discussions to promote peace and harmony in society. He likened it to the Christmas message of peace, joy, and hope, and anticipated that the festival would spread a positive message of unity among people in the country.

A unique, giant size Christmas Setup is made using food items by 50 Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management Students working for 96 hours to welcome and celebrate Christmas. The set-up is 6 feet in height and 40 feet wide made just using food ingredients

The Christmas setup consists of butter carvings of Santa, Reindeers and Sledges. This apart using salt dough, gingerbread and rusks, snow-covered colonies are created. Rusks and salt dough are used to create castles.

The setup has become a talk in the neighbourhood and attracts many visitors.

Students of Hyderabad based Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management created a unique Christmas experience for them and others, showcasing their culinary skills. It is the most memorable thing for me, commented a student, Manish.

They created what they term it as ‘culinary marvel’.

To make the setup, they used 105 kg butter, 60kg flour, 60 kg salt, 10kg gelatin, 123 eggs, 40 kg icing sugar, 10 kg bread rusk, 28kg golden syrup, 5 kg ginger powder, 3kg mixed ginger, 15 kg brown sugar, 3kg Cinnamon powder and 40-litre milk.

Rs 89,000/- is spent on the material. It is made under the supervision of Chef Mr. Praneeth and Chef Satya.

Pinnacle students have been doing creative works like this putting their theory into practice regularly for some time. It helps students, says Mrs. Y. Sridevi, Principal and Founder Director to use their creative skills apart from developing leadership qualities and religious tolerance, she added.

Pinnacle regularly celebrates festivals like Ramazan and Ganesh Chaturthi. For Ramazan students will make their way from Haleem, Biryani, Kheer, …. They make fantastic set-up related to the festivals.

For the past 10 years on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi students of Pinnacle have created the statue of Lord Ganesha using food material. Each year they used different food materials to make these statues right from butter to chocolate to pulled sugar to name a few.

Mitsubishi Electric collaborates with Narayan Seva Sansthan to gift 145 differently abled with artificial limbs, wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles this Christmas

A plethora of surprises was given when Mitsubishi Electric and Narayan Seva Sansthan collaborated to donate 145 differently-abled individuals with artificial limbs, wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles. In this philanthropic initiative on account of Christmas, differently-abled received wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles in Sector-4, Gurugram from Mitsubishi Electric and Narayan Seva Sansthan. High-quality aids & appliances were distributed through this free of cost artificial distribution camp and CSR initiative.

In the limb camp, 50 differently-abled received this free aid of artificial limbs, 20 wheelchairs and 40 tricycles, 35 crutches and a few of them were even shortlisted for OPD. Since 1985, NSS Team is working towards an accessible and equivalent society for the differently-abled in India.

Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan Seva Sansthan said, “It is a very happy moment for us that 145 disabled people will receive free of cost prosthesis, wheelchair, crutches and tricycle in Gurugram. While maintaining social distancing in the camp, the NSS team requested everyone to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and wear masks. Our team at NSS, thanks to Mitsubishi Electric for making the dream of 145 differently-abled people come true of being a part of the mainstream.”

Before the pandemic, NSS has distributed around 2,74,603 wheelchairs, 264422 tricycles, 297789 crutches, 361997 and 1,72,000 blankets among the needy and underprivileged individuals through various camps.
