Experts at 5th India IVF Summit and Awards Chart Course for Accessible and Ethical Fertility Care

New Delhi, July 29, 2024: Experts at the 5th India IVF Summit and Awards, organized by the Integrated Health and Wellbeing (IHW) Council and Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction (ISAR), explored the current dynamics of the IVF sector. Held on World IVF Day, the summit concluded with insightful discussions and solutions on innovation, affordability, and accessibility of fertility treatments. Featuring contributions from experts in the medical fraternity, law, and finance, the summit focused on making treatments more economical and ethical to create an equitable ecosystem in the IVF segment of healthcare. It also highlighted that while the current framework for the IVF sector has made strides, the need for enhanced policy support to ensure accessibility of IVF treatments to all is vital.

The summit featured IVF veterans such as Dr. Abha Majumdar (Director of the IVF Department, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital), Dr. KD Nayar (Chief Consultant of Infertility, Akanksha IVF), and industry leader Dr. BK Rana (CEO of Quality and Accreditation Institute), who deliberated on the critical aspects of infertility treatment in India.

Mrs. Sujaya Krishnan, Former Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, remarked that following a code of practice and providing accurate information to help couples access the best treatment is crucial. She emphasized that using technologies while adhering to human values and ethics is the best way forward.

Dr. Ameet Patki, President, ISAR (Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction), stated, “In the last 47 years, fertility specialists have toiled day and night to ensure that couples get the joy of having a baby. Today we celebrate the world IVF Day to acknowledge such organisations, individuals who have excelled in their work. It is very important that we identify those organisations and individuals who are increasing awareness of infertility and offering infertility treatments and options in every corner of India”

Highlighting the importance of affordability in fertility treatments, Mr. Kamal Narayan, CEO, IHW Council, asserted that “As we look ahead, it is essential to continue prioritizing ethical practices and patient-centric approaches. With the collaborative efforts of the government, healthcare providers, and financial institutions, we can make significant strides towards making IVF treatments more affordable and accessible to all. Together, we can create a supportive and inclusive healthcare ecosystem that addresses the needs of every individual seeking fertility care.”

Mr. Sakthi Prasad Menon, Executive Vice President, FIBE, stated, “We’re committed to making the IVF process seamless and stress-free for individuals and couples. One way we’re achieving this is by providing financial support and guidance, helping to alleviate the emotional and economic burdens often associated with fertility treatment. By addressing the financial aspect, we’re empowering people to focus on their journey to parenthood with confidence and hope.”

Key themes discussed in the sessions included recent innovations and breakthroughs in IVF, a patient-centric approach to fertility treatments, and collaboration in IVF coverage, impact, and future directions.

The event culminated in an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of IVF. Dr. Mirudhubashini Govindarajan was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Reproductive Medicine for her over 42 years of exemplary service in fertility care and women’s health.

79th National Garment Fair by CMAI in Mumbai Inaugurated by Seerna Rajamouli, of R S Brothers, South India’s leading Retail Group

Mumbai, July 24, 2024: The 79th National Garment Fair (NGF) 2024 organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), was inaugurated by Seerna Rajamouli of R S Brothers, South India’s leading Retail Group on 23rd July in the august presence of industry leaders, apparel manufacturers, retailers, distributors and other industry members at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon and Jio World Convention Centre, BKC.

79th NGF is showcasing more than 1300 apparel brands within an expansive 1 million square feet of exhibition space spread across two venues – Men’s Wear, Women’s Wear and Accessories at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, and Kids Wear at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC over the next four days from 23rd to 26th July 2024 featuring a diverse range for collections for the largest assembly of retailers and distributors from across India.

CMAI dignitaries present at the inauguration included, Rajesh Masand – President, Rohit Munjal -Vice President & Chairman-NGF, Santosh Katariya – Hon. General Secretary, Ankur Gadia – Hon. Treasurer, Anand Choksi, Jt. Chairman-NGF and Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor among other office bearers and managing committee members.

Michele Colaninno, Chief Executive of global strategy, product, marketing and innovation of the Piaggio Group (PIA.MI), founder and Chair of Piaggio Fast Forward, the US company specialising in robotics, has been appointed President of ACEM (Association des Constructeurs Européens de Motocycles), the European motorcycle industry association based in Brussels, to which all the world motorcycle and scooter groups belong.

“As new ACEM President, I am very grateful to the other motorcycle manufacturers for trusting the Piaggio Group in this prestigious and challenging role that I will carry out with the greatest commitment,” commented Michele Colaninno. “I look forward to working with all members of the association promoting our priorities described in Vision 2030+, the ACEM’s strategy document to respond to future mobility needs in an increasingly sustainable world. As part of this Vision, the European motorcycle industry will keep working to bring innovative and low carbon vehicles to the market, for commuting, leisure and urban mobility.”

“Also, as part of Vision 2030+, we will intensify our dialogue with the EU institutions and we will boost industry cooperation in strategic areas, such as connectivity, safety and electrification,” Michele Colaninno added.

In addition to his positions in the Piaggio Group, Michele Colaninno, who was born in 1976, is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Immsi Group, an industrial holding active in the financial, real estate and industrial sectors listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (IMS.MI), with revenues of more than 1.7 billion euro.

Michele Colaninno’s appointment to the presidency of ACEM coincides with the restructuring of the association, which has also named three Vice-Presidents: Stefan Pierer (CEO of KTM AG), Markus Schramm (Head of BMW Motorrad) and Eric de Seynes (President of Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.).

Course5 Intelligence Appoints Nitesh Jain as President & Chief Operating Officer

Data analytics and insights company, Course5 Intelligence, has appointed Nitesh Jain as its President & Chief Operating Officer. Mr Jain will be responsible for managing global revenue, sales, delivery, and solution & Intellectual Property (IP) strategy at Course5.

He will be working closely with Course5’s CEO, Ashwin Mittal, and the Company’s other executive leadership on corporate development and go-to-market strategy.

Nitesh has over 24 years of global work experience with a proven track record in delivering data-driven analytics services, IT Services, and digital solutions across a diverse set of industries.

Nitesh was the founding leader of Wipro’s Advanced Analytics and Data Science practice which grew from inception in 2005 to a substantial practice by 2014.

In his last role during a 19-year stint at Wipro, he served as Vice President & Business Head for the UK & Ireland cluster.

On Nitesh’s appointment, Ashwin Mittal, Chairman, MD and CEO of Course5 Intelligence, said, “Nitesh will bring a strong pedigree of experience to drive our growth agenda. Meanwhile, the company said they plan to grow organically through increased share-of-wallet with existing clients and new clients. The company has provided services to four of the seven largest companies in the world by market capitalization as of November 30, 2021, four out of the top ten pharmaceutical companies in terms of net revenue in 2020, and two out of the five largest CPG companies in terms of net revenue in 2020. For the year ended March 2021, 67.19% of the revenue came from clients that are either Fortune 500 or Forbes 2000 including Microsoft, Lenovo, and Colgate-Palmolive Company.

Course5 is also looking at inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by acquiring companies whose vision aligns with its strengths and who bring complementary capabilities and IP and enable the Company to expand its business with existing and new clients.

Course5 reported total revenue of Rs 247.19 crore for the financial year ended March 2021. Course5 has reported strong financial numbers for the six months ended September 2021. The company posted a 28.03% jump in revenue from operations with Rs 143.67 crore revenue in the six months ended September 2021 as against Rs 112.21 crore in the same period the previous year.

The company’s net profit surged 110% to Rs. 26.82 crore for six months ended September 2021 from Rs 12.79 crore in the same period last year.
