Physics Wallah and Earth Care Foundation Unite to Empower 40,000 Underprivileged Students

India September 19’ 2024: Physics Wallah (PW), India’s leading EdTech platform, in its mission to democratise education across Bharat, has joined hands with Earth Care Foundation (ECF) under their flagship program, Project Udaan 2.0, with an aim to provide quality education to the poor and underprivileged students. This partnership is in-line with Physics Wallah’s (PW) aim to make education widely accessible for students across the country and Earth Care Foundation’s aim of bringing knowledge to the doorsteps of the disadvantaged youth at almost zero cost.

Alakh Pandey X ECF

Dr. Ajit Kumar IAS (Retd.), Founder Chairman of Earth Care Foundation established the foundation in 2005 with a vision of establishing a sustainable society and lifestyle by empowering the poor and underprivileged sections of the society with knowledge, skills and resources. This partnership will empower students approved by ECF residing in villages and small towns who lack access to quality online education. Eligible students competing in recruitment and entrance examinations like NEET, JEE, Banking, Defence and SSC will be given access to the high-quality content and courses offered by Physics Wallah (PW). Along with the PW courses, the program also offers courses in English proficiency, PDP & Soft skills course & career counselling course through Know Thy Choice and Fastinfo. A meagre registration fee is charged from the students to ensure their willingness to learn and also to make them feel more invested in completing these courses.

Majority of these students are the primary bread earners of their families and hence prefer self-paced learning. Hence, Flexi-Time and Flexi-Location mode of online teaching and learning, which allows these students to complete the online course at their convenience from the comfort of their homes. The success of this way of teaching is further substantiated through the pilot run that witnessed a high completion rate of around 85-90%. For every 10 students, a mentor is assigned who connects with them each week to track progress and handhold them through their academic journey.

Conveying his thoughts on this partnership, Alakh Pandey, Founder & CEO of Physics Wallah (PW) said, “Helping students from across the country regardless of their social or economical status, is the sole reason why we began this company. We are delighted to have partnered with ECF as our visions are aligned. In future, we aspire to partner with multiple NGOs to empower 10 lakh underprivileged students in the next 5 years, so that we can give them equal opportunities and access to top quality education.”

Sharing his thoughts Dr. Ajit Kumar IAS (Retd.), Founder Chairman of ECF said, “We are excited to expand Udaan 2.0 this financial year after the success of Udaan 1.0; which empowered students belonging to families of migrant labourers, dwelling in the slums of Delhi. Having Physics Wallah (PW) as our knowledge and technology partner will enable us to use their robust digital distribution network to reach students whose education is constrained due to socio-economic reasons. We aim to level the playing field when it comes to compete in recruitment and competitive exams by giving them access to quality online education.”

ECF has partnered with CSC (Common Service Centre) Academy, an undertaking of the Ministry of IT & Electronics, where students can register themselves for Udaan 2.0 by visiting their nearest CSC in the village (more than 5.5 lakh centres are there in the country). They are also required to submit their mark sheet and income certificate as part of the registration process. Know Thy Choice (KTC) is the technology and delivery partner for the project.

PW Student Secures AIR 1 in CA Inter; 4 Students in Top 50 via Online Classes

New Delhi, Delhi, India July 15, 2024
Physics Wallah (PW), India’s leading ed-tech platform’s student bagged All India rank 1 (AIR-1). 19-year-old Kushagra Roy from Bhiwani, Rajasthan, a student of PW’s online vertical, CA Wallah has scored 89.67% and achieved AIR-1 in CA Intermediate May 2024 examination. Alongside Kushagra, Rohan Gupta from Haryana achieved AIR-30, Armaan Khan from Seelampur, AIR-48, and Jai Sanjeev Karoshi from Maharashtra secured AIR-49. All four rankers had previously cleared their CA Foundation exams with the guidance of CA Wallah’s online batches.

Born to a father who himself has been a CA-aspirant and continues to dream of clearing this exam, CA Inter May 2024 AIR 1 Kushagra was part of PW’s CA Intermediate Udesh Regular (G1+G2) May 2024 batch. He took PW’s online classes to prepare for this exam; his first attempt; after successfully clearing the Foundation level, for which he prepared through online classes of CA Wallah.

Fulfilling his father’s dream and continuous support from him, he has been Kushagra’s biggest motivation. After the tragic demise of his mother, Lt. Mrs. Premshila Roy, in 2015, Kushagra’s father has single-handedly brought up both Kushagra and his elder brother, Kushal Kumar Roy; while managing the household chores and financially supporting the entire family.

Expressing his joy, Kushagra said, “I took to preparing at home with Physics Wallah’s (PW) online classes for this year’s CA Inter. My goal was to prepare for the test as much as I could and be ready for the examination. My father’s continuous motivation and support of PW’s classes helped me with an integrated approach building my practice and confidence. Even for CA Foundation, I studied from PW’s online classes and that was enough for me to score 336 out of 400. And today, I can proudly say that online education alone can get you AIR 1.”

Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of Physics Wallah (PW), shared his excitement over the results and said, “Our aim has always been to democratize education in India. We believe one shouldn’t just rely on paying hefty fees to get quality education and guidance. Our recent results in NDA, NEET, GATE, and now CA, with students securing All India ranks and even AIR from studying just online, prove that PW is making a significant impact in the lives of students. When I interact with students and hear their stories of achievement—students who didn’t even think of getting an education securing top ranks in competitive exams—I feel the happiest. These results are a testament to the quality of education we provide, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

PW’s CA Wallah, launched in October 2022, has already garnered a substantial following, with over 3.6 lakh students on its YouTube platform and over 2.5 lakh students on the PW app. The platform offers CA Foundation and Intermediate courses, taught by the best faculty in India. Weekly online sessions and marathon classes before exams ensure thorough preparation, while practice sheets with text solutions are available on the PW app.
