Trane Technologies Named One of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies by TIME

SWORDS, Ireland ─ July 15, 2024 ─ Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator, has been recognized in TIME’s inaugural rankings of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies. The list, published in collaboration with market research company Statista, celebrates companies who advance sustainable practices and promote corporate responsibility and social stewardship.

Through industry-leading action and innovation, Trane Technologies is decarbonizing buildings, industry and the cold chain and advancing its 2030 Sustainability Commitments, including

the Gigaton Challenge, and its pledge to be net-zero by 2050. The company was also the first in its industry to have its near and long-term emissions reductions targets externally validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Broadly acknowledged for its industry-leading transparency, credibility and accountability, Trane Technologies has received several additional recognitions for climate action. The company was one of over 350 companies to be recognized with an ‘A’ score for transparency on climate change by CDP – out of over 21,000 companies scored. Vitesco Technologies publishes its third independent Sustainability Report

Hyderabad, April 03, 2024: Vitesco Technologies, a leading international supplier of advanced drive technologies and solutions for e-mobility, today publishes its third independent Sustainability Report. The report documents the company’s progress across seven material topics. Among other things, it is guided by the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the United Nations Global Compact (UN GC), and the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Among other things, the company carried out a comprehensive materiality assessment in 2023 in preparation for the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) based on the final European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which were published in July 2023. The Sustainability Agenda was further developed in line with the results of the materiality assessment. The six existing material topics – Clean Mobility, Climate Protection, Resource Efficiency and Circularity, Fair Work and Diversity, Responsible Sourcing and Partnerships, and Occupational Health and Safety – were reconfirmed, and Business Ethics and Compliance was added as a seventh material topic. The present Sustainability Report is also structured according to these material topics.

To measure its progress, Vitesco Technologies uses Key Performance Indicators, such as the eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score), the accident rate, the waste recycling quota, and the share of electrification solutions in its business. The report also presents a wide range of examples of how sustainability is established at all levels within the company.

Vitesco Technologies achieved an important milestone in the 2023 reporting year with the validation of its short-term climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi): Vitesco Technologies has set itself the target of reducing absolute GHG emissions from its own operational activities (Scope 1 and 2) by 100% by 2030 compared to the base year 2019. Furthermore, the company has committed to reducing its absolute Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030 compared to the base year 2021. Beyond this, Vitesco Technologies aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain by 2040.

Midea Group releases its first-ever ESG brand story with an unexpected VIP visit highlighting its commitment to sustainability

Midea Group, a leading global technology group, recently released its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report with ambitious sustainable development goals set for 2030.

They include achieving over 500 megawatts of photovoltaic power generation, reducing greenhouse gas emission intensity (scopes 1 and 2) by 0.040, secure Energy Management System Certification for 50 factories, and achieve 100% carbon footprint accounting for major categories of smart home appliances.

This is aligned with the Sustainable Development Report Standards of the Global Report Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The new report and campaign focuses on four dimensions: Protect the Blue Planet, Build a Harmonious Community, Practice ‘Bring Great Innovations to Life’, and Jointly Create the Prosperous Ecology.

Midea’s ESG credentials are comprehensive but communicating them to a wider audience can be complex and run the risk of sounding dry.

For its first-ever ESG brand film, it would have been easy to follow convention with a montage of oceans, rainforests, and renewable energy supported by a prosaic voiceover but in order to cut through, entertainment was key.

With this in mind, a narrative based film was created telling the story of a factory visit featuring Midea‘s most important VIPs. The next generation.

This creative juxtaposition highlights kids as VIPs as well as future beneficiaries of its ESG initiatives. Their characters bring a warmth, simplicity, and charm only kids can provide, allowing the brand to deliver hard facts with a soft touch.

The film was launched globally on 28 March 2024, across Linkedin, Facebook, X, Youtube platforms.
